The 75 years of New China's defense of the country
In April 1950, the Yunnan Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China asked the Southwest Bureau for instructions on the work policy in the border areas. In accordance with the instructions, the Yunnan Provincial CPC Committee put forward the work principle of "uniting to fight the enemy together, jointly defending oneself, and guarding against bandits and homeland," dispatched ethnic task forces to go deep into minority areas to carry out activities of "doing good deeds and making friends," to dredge up ethnic relations, publicize the party's ethnic policy, and carry out joint defense by border guards and militias of all nationalities.
The comic strip "Gun" tells the story of the Dai, Miao and other ethnic groups in the border areas of Yunnan to enhance unity and capture bandits because of the appearance of a gun, emphasizing the importance of ethnic unity.
