"Thank you to the police comrades for their dedication to handling the case and recovering our economic losses." Ms. Gu, who lives in Jiangbei District, was defrauded of more than 20 yuan because she believed that others had a relationship with her studies and internal channels. After receiving the report, the police of the Cuntan Police Station of the Jiangbei District Public Security Bureau took active action and successfully recovered all the losses for Ms. Gu. In order to express her gratitude, on May 15, Ms. Gu specially sent three pennants with the words "Enforce the law impartially and be enthusiastic for the people" to the Cuntan Police Station.
It all started one day in September 2021, when Ms. Gu received a WeChat friend application who claimed to be the person in charge of a further education institution. In the later chat with Li Moumou, who was in charge, the other party revealed to Ms. Gu from time to time that he had "special channels" in various schools, and he could handle many businesses such as children's enrollment in key schools and teacher transfers, and the amount was preferred.
Subsequently, Ms. Gu informed other parents and friends of other students who were interested in further education. Subsequently, a number of parents of students entrusted Ms. Gu to transfer fees ranging from 9 to 150,000 yuan to Li Moumou for handling their children's enrollment.
Time flies, and the school is about to start, but the students who paid the money have not received the admission notice, Ms. Gu urged Li Moumou many times, but the other party comforted Ms. Gu and said that it would be done smoothly, so that Ms. Gu and others should not worry.
At the beginning of the new semester, the students who paid the money still did not successfully enter the school promised by Li. When Ms. Gu tried to contact the other party through WeChat, phone and other means, she found that she was blocked. Only then did Ms. Gu realize that she had been deceived, and she came to the Cuntan Police Station to call the police for help.
After investigating and collecting evidence, Zhang Yiqiang, the policeman handling the case, found that Li Moumou took advantage of the psychology of parents to hope that their son would become a dragon, accurately located the target group through WeChat groups for further education exchanges, Moments and other groups, and defrauded many students' parents in the names of "pit fees" and "package fees", with a cumulative amount of more than 20 yuan.
The police retrieved Li's bank card and other transaction information, and found that the fees transferred to her by Ms. Gu for further education had been used by Li to repay debts. After in-depth research and judgment, the police quickly found the criminal suspect Li Moumou, who confessed to the illegal facts of defrauding Ms. Gu and others.
Under the work of the police, Li Moumou returned all the stolen money. On December 20, 2023, criminal suspect Li Moumou was sentenced to seven years and six months in prison for committing fraud.
Police remind: It's another year of school promotion season, parents should not believe in the so-called "internal quota" and "pay money to ensure enrollment" scams. If the parents of the students accidentally listen to the rhetoric of the criminals, do not hesitate, once they find something suspicious, they should keep the evidence at hand, immediately report to the police, seek help from the police, and try their best to recover the economic losses.
