In the work with GFRIEND, the song that lasted the longest was "Flower Garden". The opportunity for the first birth was that Zhang Zhengyu suddenly remembered a very good melody during the bath, and sent a voice file with a kakaotalk message for the chorus part, although it was a cappella, and the length was very short, but it felt very good. Therefore, based on the inspiration generated by hearing it, we start to do the basic work.
I remember that from the first prelude, just to make the code and communicate with each other, the basic work took a month. Although it was the first time it was released, the songs were all songs written with the feeling of a collection of songs, and this was the first time that I made up my mind to write the main song. (It's a pity it didn't become the title song)
After the recording of the guide song was sent to the company, the other party said that the 'chorus' was too good to listen to, and asked to modify the main song part, so the main song part was modified and re-sent to the company. The last part of the chorus was then requested to be revised, so it was confirmed with the original two versions. It took more than 3 months to complete, and the song that was born after several twists and turns was "Flower Garden".
The original title was "Like Petals", then changed to "The Secret Garden", and then changed to "Flower Garden" (similar to OH MY GIRL's "Secret Garden", which had to be changed again), and finally announced on April 30, 2018. After Highlight was published, it ranked third on Twitter's "Live Hot Search List", and then it also received a lot of attention at the GFRIEND Gallery, which is also a special song for me.
Recalling the scene when I used to work, in the process of digging up the data, I found the previous demo and thought about the scene again. It felt like it was a shame to be the only one to listen to, so I thought it would be better to share it with 'Buddy' fans.
