At first I thought it was just an exaggerated figure of speech. Walking all the way, I found that it was completely realistic.
We all know that Nanjing is the "ancient capital of the Six Dynasties", and the ruins of the city wall of the ancient capital of the Six Dynasties are hidden in the Six Dynasties Museum on this road; At the beginning of the Ming Dynasty, Nanjing became the capital of the empire, and although it was no longer an imperial city, the Jiangnan Weaving Bureau was located nearby.
In the Qing Dynasty, it was not only the location of the Liangjiang Governor's Palace, but also the palace of Kangxi and Qianlong in the south of the Yangtze River. Even after the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom captured Nanjing, it also built a palace here; In modern times, the modern presidential palace of the Republic of China was located on this road.

Museum of the Six Dynasties

First of all, a little "shocking" background knowledge, this museum was designed by Pei's team led by Pei Jianzhong, the son of I.M. Pei. Although it has been a bit of a circle, the point is that the exhibition in this museum is really full of surprises.
The negative floor of the "Imperial Capital of the Six Dynasties" can be said to be built directly on the "archaeological site". The city walls of the ancient capital of the Six Dynasties, excavated in this generation, are presented as they are.
Walking up to the high platform, you can also see the distinction made by the archaeological site above the city wall, as well as some details of the wall. It not only keeps a certain distance, but also makes people feel very involved.
There are also cultural relics unearthed from the Six Dynasties on display next to it, such as tiles, city bricks, utensils, bamboo slips, etc.
The "Six Dynasties" on the second floor is one of my favorites, and the whole venue is full of the beauty of Chinese design. The bamboo is covered with tulle and becomes a natural painting.
A simple screen gives the instrumental figurines a vivid and wonderful appearance.

Jiangning Weaving Museum

The designer of the Jiangning Weaving Museum also has a great background, and it is Wu Liangyong, a famous expert in architecture and urban planning in mainland China. Of course, a bunch of titles in front of the name will only make people feel unclear.
However, when I saw this door, I never thought that this museum is a garden full of surprises!
The most impressive thing in the museum is the layered garden design.
The Chinese garden is mainly flat, but the design of the museum has built the Chinese architecture on the second and third floors in a staggered manner, adding a three-dimensional sense and refreshing.
Walking into the garden, this round to square frame increases the layering of the scenery in a small space.

There are two clues to the exhibition here, one is "Jiangnan Weaving", the "Yunjin" produced here was once only for the use of the court, which can be said to be the top-notch level of Jiangnan weaving technology, leaving not much silk fabric, but also blingbling good-looking.
Another clue is "Dream of Red Mansions", the Cao family has a total of three generations and four people who served as Jiangnan weaving, and it was not until Cao Xueqin's generation that it gradually declined. As Cao Xueqin's hometown, the Jiangnan Weaving Bureau is also the source of the life of brocade clothes and jade food described in "Dream of Red Mansions".
The museum exhibits Cao Xueqin's life experience and the classic scenes in "Dream of Red Mansions" as clues.
I was originally a casual observer of this, but I happened to meet a young lady who loved "Dream of Red Mansions" and came to "pilgrimage". From her excited look, I suddenly realized that this place has a different meaning for "red fans"~

During the reign of Tongzhi in the Qing Dynasty, Zeng Guoquan and Master Haifeng said, "If I supervise the two rivers, I will build a nunnery for you." Later, the words came true, and the Pilu Temple, which was destroyed in the war on the Yangtze River Road, was rebuilt into the magnificent and magnificent Pilu Temple.
When the Republic of China built the capital of Nanjing, it also followed the "rising tide and lifted all boats" and became the center of Buddhism in the country at that time, and the Buddhist Association of China and the Chinese Buddhist Research Association were all set up here. It can be said that it is a temple with a lot of origin.
However, compared to the popular Jiming Temple, although it is in the downtown area, it is much quieter. And the temple is more special is that when you enter the door, you will be able to enter the Daxiong Treasure Hall. Usually the Maitreya Buddha who "welcomes" the temple is placed in the pavilion.
The whole layout uses bridges and staircases to increase the sense of hierarchy, and it looks solemn with a touch of agility.
Bypass the Daxiong Treasure Hall, and behind it is the rebuilt Ten Thousand Buddha Tower. There is a set of "Qianlong Tripitaka" hidden in the building, although it cannot be seen at a glance. But the golden iron chime in the glazed tower of the Great Bao'en Temple treasured in the building, and the three holy stone niches of Huayan in the Northern Wei Dynasty are still worth seeing.
Nanjing Museum of Modern Chinese History (Presidential Palace)

The Presidential Palace is definitely Nanjing's "traffic responsibility", and I was "apprehensive" about the experience of being crowded and smoking for the first time, and I didn't plan to go again. As a result, when I passed by, it was only an hour before the museum closed, and there were few people visible to the naked eye, so I simply went to visit again, and unexpectedly gained a presidential palace with a small number of people.
Although it is famous for the "Presidential Palace", it is actually full of historical buffs, which can be traced back to the Ming Dynasty's Guide Hou Mansion and Han Wang's Mansion; In the Qing Dynasty, it was the Jiangning Weaving Department, the Liangjiang Governor's Palace, and the palace of Kangxi and Qianlong's southern tour; Later, it was the Heavenly King's Mansion of the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom; Finally, it became the presidential palace of the Republic of China.

The Xuyuan Garden on the west line is a garden of the past dynasties, and the stone boat and Yilan Pavilion still retain the delicacy of the Jiangnan garden. When there are few people, it is still very comfortable to walk in it.
On the eastern front, there is an exhibition on the history of the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom.
While shopping, I thought of Qian Mu's evaluation, and looked at these names they took, and knew that this thing would not work. There is always a sense of historical absurdity and unexpectedness.
Although the Presidential Palace is a "must-visit place" in Nanjing, less crowded and more crowded are really two completely different experiences, so it is recommended to stagger the peak period as much as possible. On the third floor, Li Jianchen's watercolor exhibition is based on the timeline of the author's creation, spanning from the 40s of the last century to the new century. Deji Museum of Art
