On May 17, the inaugural meeting of the "University Philosophy and Social Science Laboratory Alliance" was held at Peking University, and 30 sister universities will work together to create a new future of digital intelligence and humanities.
The inaugural meeting of the "Alliance of Philosophy and Social Science Laboratories in Universities" was held in the Sunshine Hall of the Yingjie Exchange Center of Peking University. Gong Qihuang, President of Peking University, attended the conference, Chen Guohua, Deputy Director of the Department of Social Sciences of the Ministry of Education, Jiang Guohua, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Peking University and Secretary-General of the Alliance, delivered a speech as the organizer of the conference, Peng Gang, Vice President of Tsinghua University, Wang Yi, Vice President of Chinese People's University, and Kang Zhen, Vice President of Beijing Normal University, delivered speeches as representatives of the Alliance.
Gong Qihuang, Chen Guohua, Peng Gang, Wang Yi, Kang Zhen, Shi Jianzhong, Jiang Guohua, Vice Presidents of China University of Political Science and Law, and Yuan Zhenguo, Director of the Faculty of Education of East China Normal University, jointly launched the University Philosophy and Social Science Laboratory Alliance.
Leaders and representatives of scientific research management departments from 30 university philosophy and social science laboratories across the country attended the event. The latest research results and innovative practices of university laboratories were showcased at the inauguration ceremony, and the topics covered six topics: "Digital Humanities and Technology Ethics", "Computational Social Science and Intelligent Social Governance", "Construction of New Think Tanks with Chinese Characteristics in the Era of Digital Intelligence", "Philosophy and Social Science Laboratories and University Talent Training", "Philosophy and Social Science Laboratories and Interdisciplinarity", and "Philosophy and Social Science Laboratories and Industry-University-Research Ecological Chain".
It is reported that the conference will last for 3 days, and on May 18, the members of the alliance will discuss in depth topics such as talent training in laboratories and universities, interdisciplinary disciplines, and industry-university-research ecological chain in the roundtable dialogue session. Participants will visit the Achievement Exhibition of the Global College Student Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center of Peking University and visit the Laboratory of Computational Social Science and National Governance of Tsinghua University. On May 19, participants will go to Baidu for field research to understand the application of cutting-edge technology in the field of philosophy and social sciences.
