On May 8, in Lingshui County, Hainan, a group of five people with three men and two women brought their own fiberglass boats purchased from the Internet to Xiaomei Reservoir for suspected fishing. The boat rolled over while rowing to the middle of the reservoir, one of the men swam to the shore and called the police, and the other four fell into the water. After search and rescue, the four people who fell into the water were all recovered and brought ashore on the morning of the 9th, and there were no vital signs.

On May 5, a 7-year-old boy drowned in a community in the north urban area of Kunming, Yunnan Province, and died after being sent to the hospital for rescue by 120.

On May 2, Lin, a resident of Lufeng City, Guangdong, took his four children to the open beach near his residence to play, during which one child accidentally fell into the water, and Lin and three other children fell into the water when they were rescued in a hurry.
