On May 17, 2024, the Cuban government announced that from now on, Chinese citizens holding valid ordinary passports can enjoy a visa-free policy for entering and leaving Cuba, transiting or staying in Cuba for a period of no more than 90 days (from the date of entry). Chinese citizens who stay in Cuba for more than 90 days are still required to apply for a visa. In addition, Chinese citizens who come to Cuba to work, study, reside or report on the news must apply for a visa before entering Cuba.
