Ghost of Tsushima is PlayStation's fourth-biggest PC game to date

In terms of the number of concurrent players, Ghost of Tsushima Director's Cut is PlayStation's fourth most popular game on Steam.

As noted by SteamDB, since its launch on Thursday, May 16, this highly anticipated PC port has surpassed several well-known Sony games in terms of concurrent players, setting a record of 61,453 concurrent users at the time of writing.

Only Helldiver 2, God of War, and Marvel's Spider-Man Remastered currently have higher online numbers at 458,709, 73,529, and 66,436 players, respectively.

This means that Ghost of Tsushima Director's Cut was first launched with a higher number of online users than other Sony games like Horizon: Zero Dawn, Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection, and The Last of Us Part I.

The Ghost of Tsushima Director's Cut was also well-received, with a "very positive" user rating based on over 6,000 Steam reviews.

Earlier this week, Ghost of Tsushima Director's Cut developer Nixxes issued a statement saying that the game's cross-platform feature (arguably requiring a PSN login on PC) will now be tagged as "beta" at launch.

Legends is the game's co-op online multiplayer mode, which was previously thought to be a full-featured part of the upcoming PC version. Now, however, Legends is described as "ready to run on PC at launch", but cross-play doesn't happen automatically.

Initially, Sucker Punch, the developer of Ghost of Tsushima, was forced to make it clear that Steam players don't need to sign up for PSN if they only want to play the Director's Cut single-player campaign. But then – presumably due to Helldivers' decision to retroactively add a PC PSN login requirement, a requirement that had such an impact that Sony was forced to change its original plan – Steam began to make automatic refunds to players who bought the Ghost of Tsushima director for editing in countries where PSN was not available. Again, it's not going well.
