Today (19 May) is the 34th National Day for the Disabled. A few days ago, the Chongming District Disabled Persons' Federation, together with the Municipal Association of the Deaf and Shanghai East Hospital, launched a series of disability assistance activities to popularize health knowledge and medical consulting services for the disabled.
At 1 o'clock in the afternoon, at the Comprehensive Service Center for the Disabled in Gangyan Town, a special health knowledge lecture was underway. In order to take care of the particularity of the deaf community, the experts of Shanghai East Hospital are equipped with professional sign language interpreters while popularizing gastrointestinal knowledge. How to treat Helicobacter pylori, gastric cancer risk staging method...... If you have any questions, the sign language workers on the side will "translate" the questions to the doctor in real time, "This kind of lecture is so good, we feel the care of the society." Many villagers praised the warm service.
At the same time, experts from the Department of Cardiology, Orthopedics, Gynecology and other departments of Shanghai East Hospital provided health consultation, blood sugar and blood pressure and cardiopulmonary rehabilitation science for the villagers.
It is understood that Shanghai East Hospital, as the first "deaf outpatient service point" in Shanghai, has carried out deaf volunteer services in various districts for many years since 2012, including deaf lectures, "one-to-one" sign language interpreter accompaniment, medical consulting services, etc., which has improved the sense of access and happiness of the deaf group.
It is reported that during the National Day for the Disabled, Chongming also carried out special recruitment activities for the disabled, and organized 21 enterprises to help the disabled, providing nearly 200 jobs, covering hotel catering, human resources, manufacturing, design and other industries, and providing consulting services for the disabled in the recruitment process, giving patient answers to the issues that job seekers are most concerned about, such as salary and working environment, so that more disabled people can rest assured that they can be employed.
