A few days ago, Great Wall Soul, a high-end luxury brand under Great Wall Motors, officially released the brand's first touring motorcycle at the 2024 Beijing Motorcycle Exhibition. The new car, with a 2,000cc eight-cylinder boxer engine and an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission, is regarded by the industry as a major breakthrough made in China, filling the gap in domestic luxury touring motorcycles.
Great Wall Soul MC01, that's the official name of the new car. Its die-cast frame is matched to the double wishbone front suspension, providing a stable chassis foundation for this large-displacement motorcycle. And the 2.0-liter V8 engine independently developed by Great Wall Motors is the biggest highlight of this car.
As the world's first mass-produced horizontally opposed eight-cylinder motorcycle engine, its performance parameters are excellent: with a maximum power of 200 hp and a peak torque of 280 Nm, it fully meets the standard of a luxury touring motorcycle.
Paired with an eight-speed dual-clutch gearbox and shaft drive, the Great Wall Soul MC01 will not let any international model of the same class 777215 in terms of power performance. It is measured to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.5 seconds and reach a top speed of 250 km/h. This makes it one of the fastest and most powerful luxury touring motorcycles in the country.
In terms of appearance, the MC01 continues the consistent family design language of the Great Wall soul brand, using a hexagonal grid mask-style grille, and the design of the front double LED round headlights can be associated with the "lion awakening".
The streamlined body with excellent ground effect, with large chrome fittings and Brembo red brake calipers, gives this Chinese-made luxury cruising motorcycle a high texture and recognition.
In terms of on-board configuration, the Great Wall Soul MC01 can be described as "well-equipped": all-digital LCD instrument screen, navigation system, on-board WiFi hotspot, heated handle, front and rear seat heating and other functions are readily available, and the equipped tail box and trunk provide sufficient cargo space to meet the various needs of long-distance travel.
In the Chinese luxury touring motorcycle market, the main competitor of the Great Wall Soul MC01 is the Honda Golden Wing GL1800. In comparison, the 1.8-liter V6 engine equipped with the Honda Golden Wing is inferior to the Great Wall's 2.0-liter V8 in terms of displacement and power, and its 0-100 km/h acceleration time takes 5 seconds and the top speed is only 210 km/h.

More critically, the price of the Great Wall Soul MC01 is expected to be around 250,000 yuan, while the price of the Honda Gold Wing GL1800 in the same class is as high as 350,000 yuan. In terms of cost performance, the Great Wall soul obviously has more advantages, which will also become the biggest selling point of its sales.
