The event was guided by the Suzhou Municipal Sports Bureau, co-organized by the Suzhou Industrial Park Bureau of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Management Committee of Jinji Lake Business District, and the Management Committee of Dushu Lake Science and Education Innovation Zone, hosted by the Jinji Lake Scenic Area Management Center and Suzhou New Era Culture, Sports and Exhibition Group Co., Ltd., undertaken by Suzhou Wenbo Business Tourism Development Co., Ltd., supported by Suzhou Canoe and Paddleboard Association, Beijing Kusai Tongce Sports Culture Communication Co., Ltd., and implemented by Suzhou Maizi Culture Media Co., Ltd.
As the first water event hosted by the Jinji Lake Scenic Area Management Center and the New Era Group this year, this competition is the first time to connect the waters of Jinji Lake and Dushu Lake in the form of water events, and it is the first cross-country event held in the waters of Shuanghu Lake in China. The competition set up a 15km kayak, 8km paddleboard, and 1km speed race for the dragon board team, which greatly tested the physical strength and endurance of the participants. A total of nearly 300 kayakers and paddleboard enthusiasts from all over the country from 13 city teams in Jiangsu Province, international friend teams such as Italy and Singapore, and university teams were attracted to participate in the competition.
In order to carry out this water event smoothly, the organizers have put in place a number of scientific and meticulous safety measures. The Blue Sky Rescue Team will ensure the safety of the event at the event site, and ambulances and medical personnel will also be on standby at the scene to ensure that they can provide fast and effective rescue services in case of emergency. In addition, the organizers have also established a green medical channel and event linkage guarantee system to ensure that in any unforeseen circumstances, they can take swift action to ensure the safety of participants and spectators.
The event is not only to promote the healthy and sustainable development of Suzhou Industrial Park's water prosperity work, but also to welcome the 30th anniversary of the completion of the Sino-Singapore Industrial Park in 2024. The event aims to use the brand event economy to drive the vitality of leisure tourism in Jinji Lake, realize the organic combination of tourism and water sports, outdoor leisure, commercial sponsorship and media cooperation, innovate the water sports event model, continuously improve the safety guarantee of the event and project research and development, and create the first brand of urban water and outdoor sports events in China.
