100 fishing boats attempted to storm the island, and the Chinese coast guard fired the "first shot", and the Philippine side retreated again and again

author:Professor Cao Xing

When people's eyes were focused on the direction of the Taiwan Strait, there was a big move in the direction of the South China Sea, and the Philippines tried to rush to the island, but was shocked by the actions of the mainland coast guard and decisively chose to retreat again and again.

Filipino fishing boats attempt to storm the island

Recently, the Philippines led by a fleet of five boats, more than 100 small fishing boats, tried to force their way into the waters of Scarborough Shoal on the mainland.

The mainland coast guard has already erected numerous defensive walls around Scarborough Shoal, and Philippine ships can only stop within 50 nautical miles of Scarborough Shoal.

Despite this, the Filipino ships took out their flags, took pictures, and declared what they called "victory".

In addition, the Philippines is preparing to stay 50 nautical miles east of Scarborough Shoal for "permanent residence", and the Philippine fleet has delivered food and daily necessities to these people.

Obviously, the Philippines is preparing to spend time with China in the South China Sea, and it looks like it is "bound to recapture Scarborough Shoal".

The head of the Philippine flotilla also said that although their main ship was withdrawn, their "forward team" still "managed to break through the Chinese blockade" and achieved "significant success".

The Philippines is distorting the facts and misleading public opinion in order to gain the "support" of the international community, and if the mainland coast guard retreats, Philippine ships may be ready to launch an "attack" at any time and forcibly intrude into the waters of Scarborough Shoal on the mainland.

However, what the Philippines did not expect was that the mainland had already prepared corresponding countermeasures, and the Philippine cleverness was not worth mentioning in front of the Chinese coast guard.

The China Coast Guard has launched a campaign to defend its rights near Scarborough Shoal

In a video released by Chinese officials from the scene, the Chinese Coast Guard conducted on-site control of vessels illegally gathered in the Philippines in accordance with the law.

It is also an indisputable fact that the Philippines can only cower 50 nautical miles from Scarborough Shoal, feeling the strong deterrence of the Chinese coast guard.

The so-called official ship of the Philippines withdrew with the fishing boat in the direction of the Philippine mainland after seeing the Chinese coast guard.

This shows that the so-called "victory" of the Philippines is just a rhetorical artillery.

In addition, it is worth mentioning that the China Coast Guard has recently launched regular rights enforcement activities in the waters around Scarborough Shoal, which reflect China's claim to sovereignty and jurisdiction over Scarborough Shoal and its adjacent waters.

Specific actions are as follows.

First, the China Coast Guard has carried out rights protection and law enforcement activities near Huangyan Island to ensure order and safety in the area, and at the same time safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of Chinese fishermen's traditional fishing grounds and shelters.

In response to the illegal gathering of Philippine vessels, the Chinese Coast Guard has conducted on-site surveillance and evidence collection in the waters adjacent to China's Huangyan Island, and has taken corresponding control measures against the illegal intrusion of vessels, thus ensuring the safety and order of the sea area.

3. Daily training and replenishment at sea: The CCG not only carried out rights protection and law enforcement missions in the waters off Huangyan Dao, but also organized a daily training on May 13, during which the 3502 ships provided sea supplies to other law enforcement vessels, demonstrating the CCG's presence and daily operational capabilities in the area.

Fourth, in response to provocations by "non-governmental organizations", the Chinese coast guard has maintained a high degree of vigilance against the attempts of non-governmental organizations in the Philippines called "This is ours" to illegally intrude into the waters around Scarborough Shoal, and has effectively responded to them by shouting warnings and other means, demonstrating its determination to resolutely safeguard national sovereignty and maritime rights and interests. Despite its unilateral claim that its mission was successful, the group did not actually approach Scarborough Shoal, and its actions were strongly deterred by the Chinese Coast Guard.

In short, China has indisputable sovereignty over Scarborough Shoal, and everything the Chinese Coast Guard does is based on actions to safeguard national sovereignty, and if Philippine vessels live in the waters east of Scarborough Shoal for a long time, the mainland coast guard will accompany them.

The United States, on which the Philippines depends, ran first

There is also a small episode worth mentioning.

We all know that the reason why the Philippines dares to encroach on China's sovereignty over Scarborough Shoal is because of the support of the United States.

Before the "big operation" at Scarborough Shoal in the Philippines, the US "Roosevelt" aircraft carrier strike group was still circling around Scarborough Shoal.

However, after the Philippines had organized the "Centaurs," the "Roosevelt" had already turned around non-stop and fled the "danger zone."

Of course, the U.S. military cannot be blamed entirely.

The Chinese side released a silhouette photo of the H-6K bomber flying over Scarborough Shoal, which carries YJ-21 missiles, and the 1,000 kilometers around Scarborough Shoal are within the PLA's strike range.

At the same time, it was also reported that the Type 055 missile destroyer "Zunyi" sailed into Mischief Island for the first time for berthing.

This move means that there are two Type 055 destroyers around the South China Sea, which is undoubtedly a pressure on the combat effectiveness of the US Navy's aircraft carriers.

In short, China has been prepared for the South China Sea, as can be seen from CCTV's recent propaganda, which is China's best claim to sovereignty in the South China Sea.

Therefore, no matter what the Philippines does, it will not be able to reverse the fact that China will strengthen its sovereignty in the South China Sea, and if the Philippines continues its provocative behavior, it cannot be ruled out that China will take "unbearable" measures, including the possibility of land reclamation of Scarborough Shoal.
