The origin of the Buddha Bathing Festival
2,500 years ago, Shakyamuni Buddha was born from the right rib of the Buddha's mother, Mrs. Maya, and then walked seven steps around the week, pointing to the sky with one hand and the earth with the other, and said, "Heaven and the world, but I am the only one." The earth shook, and the Nine Dragons spat out water to bathe it. The birth of the Buddha brought cool Dharma to the world and found a way to liberation for lost beings, so the Buddha's disciples held a Buddha bathing puja on the Buddha's birthday to celebrate the birth of the Buddha and to thank the Buddha.

I'm bathing like this,
Pure wisdom and solemn merit gathering,
The five turbid beings are separated from the dirt,
May the Dharmakaya be purified.
May the filth of greed, hatred, and foolishness be removed, so that one's actions, speech, and mind may be kept clean; I hope that the society will be clean and peaceful, free from violence, fraud, evil and other incidents, and the environment will be beautiful and clean; And by using the merits of bathing the Buddha, purifying the troubles and dirt of one's own heart, beautifying the social land, turning the five turbid and evil worlds into the pure land, and guiding the evil mind into the good Bodhi, this is the true meaning of bathing the Buddha!
Bathing in the Buddha symbolizes that we wash away the dirt in our hearts, purify our hearts, and show the original Buddha nature of each person.
The purpose of the ceremony is to remind us to commemorate the greatness of the Buddha-nature, and to use the ceremony to inspire our admiration for the Dharma and our enthusiasm for learning, which is the essence of the Buddha's incarnation.
The merits of bathing the Buddha
"Washing the Buddha Image Sutra" contains: "All good men and women, after the Buddha is destroyed, should recite the Buddha's immeasurable merit power in their hearts, and bathe the image of the Buddha as if the Buddha is there, and the blessings are immeasurable, and they cannot be counted." "I hope that the Buddha's sincere thoughts can plant immeasurable blessings and merits for the future.
It is recorded in the "Bathing Buddha Merit Sutra": "Bathing image method, the first of all offerings, is better than giving to the seven treasures such as Ganges sand." It is also recorded that the Buddha bathing has the following merits: He is now blessed with happiness and prolongs his life without illness; Whatever you want, you are satisfied; Relatives, friends and dependents are all safe; The eight difficulties of long resignation will always come out of the source of suffering; Attained enlightenment without a woman's body.
The fifteen merits of bathing the Buddha are often ashamed; Purify your faith; Its heart is straight; Draw close to good friends; No leakage; Common Buddhas; Constant Dharma-rectification; Able to do what they say; Feel free to be born in the land of pure Buddhas; If the surname is noble, and the people are respected, they will be happy; Born among people, it is natural to recite the Buddha; The demon armies cannot be disturbed; In the last days, uphold the Dharma; The protection of the Buddhas of the Ten Directions; Quickly attaining the five-point Dharma Body.
