A letter of determination to attack Jinan

There is such a precious cultural relic in the Jinan City Museum - the "Teng Yuanxing Determination to Ask for War" in the Battle of Jinan. The paper had yellowed, and blood and tears could be seen. 56 characters are written on it with a fountain pen, and the full text is: "Company commander, instructor: I ask to complete the most arduous task, not to get out of the line of fire if you are slightly injured, not to cry (scream) if you are seriously injured, to conquer Jinan, to avenge the people of Shandong, and to strive for meritorious service." Warrior Teng Yuanxing. September 1, 1948. ”

Teng Yuanxing's letter of determination to fight. In 1975, it was donated by Peng Chao, the Party Committee of Wuxi City, Jiangsu.

Teng Yuanxing was the third soldier of the "Jinan First Regiment" Dengcheng, born in Ye County, Shandong Province in 1930, and enlisted in the army at the age of 16. When attacking the inner city of Jinan in September 1948, 18-year-old Teng Yuanxing joined the party at the pre-war mobilization meeting.

After the siege battle began, the soldiers Li Yongjiang, Yu Hongduo, and Teng Yuanxing of the 7th Company of the 73rd Regiment of the 9th Column of the East China Field Army took the lead in assaulting the head of the inner city, and fought to the death against several Kuomintang troops stationed at the commanding heights of the southeast corner of the city wall, the meteorological observatory, which tried to resist to the end.

After the battle, the column awarded Li Yongjiang, Wang Qipeng, and Yu Hongduo the glorious title of "Jinan Hero", and Teng Yuanxing made a first-class meritorious service.

Teng Yuanxing was wounded after landing in the Battle of Jinan and recuperated for 6 months. In October 1949, he was selected to study at the Fourth Aviation School of the Air Force of the People's Liberation Army of Chinese People's Liberation Army, becoming the first batch of pilots in New China, and participated in the Air War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea, and made meritorious contributions.

Application form for volunteer soldiers to participate in the war

In the Wuxi Museum, there is an "application form" written by Zhou Quanquan, a soldier of the 2nd Battalion of the 209th Regiment of the 70th Division of the Volunteer Army during the period to resist US aggression and aid Korea. The application was written with a fountain pen, and Zhou's bloody handprint was printed on the cashier's letterhead, and there were still traces of his blood on the letterhead.

This application was written on September 15, 1952, on the eve of the 70th Division's entry into the Korean war, and the troops had already assembled on the Sino-Korean border for the final pre-war mobilization. After being encouraged and educated by the organization, the commanders and fighters, full of enthusiasm for resisting US aggression and aiding Korea to defend their homes and the country, and hatred for the enemy, wrote down letters of determination and application for war, cut their fingers, and solemnly pressed blood marks on them. In his application, Zhou Quanquan demanded to undertake the most difficult and arduous tasks, and to ensure that he would not be afraid of difficulties during the march, strengthen mutual assistance, do a good job of confidentiality, and abide by organizational discipline.

The donor of this application, Wu Zhiqin, is an instructor in the 2nd Battalion where Zhou Wenquan belongs. He kept a number of letters of determination and applications written by the fighters, and had a special affection for them. In 1997, when Wu Zhiqin donated them to the former Wuxi Revolutionary Exhibition Hall, he said to the recruiters: "At that time, as long as the troops had major and arduous combat tasks, our soldiers would come forward and take the initiative to ask for help. "From the words of the application, we can feel the heroic spirit of the volunteer soldiers who are not afraid of sacrifice and regard death as home, and the lofty belief of being loyal to the motherland and dedicating themselves to the mission. Today, these letters of determination and applications are permanently treasured in the Wuxi Museum as national second-class cultural relics, expressing respect for those eventful years and the loveliest people.

A petition for the heroes of the Air Force

In the Military Museum of the Chinese People's Revolution, there is such a valuable cultural relic, which is a letter of request for war written by Du Fengrui, a "first-class meritorious hero" of the Chinese People's Liberation Army Air Force, on September 4, 1958.

A month after writing this petition, Du Fengrui, who was only 25 years old, entered the enemy group and shot down two enemy planes in a row.

Du Fengrui, born in 1933, is a native of Henan City. In 1948, he joined the Chinese People's Liberation Army and successively served as a correspondent and a division numberman. In 1952, he was transferred to the Air Force Aviation School to learn flying, and joined the Communist Party of China in October 1956.

On August 25, 1958, Du Fengrui's unit received an order to go to Fujian to carry out a combat mission, and this time Du Fengrui was not sent to participate in the war, but he resolutely submitted a petition to the regimental party committee and resolutely asked to go to the front line in Fujian to participate in the war.

On October 10, 1958, Du Fengrui's flight squadron fought fiercely with six planes of Taiwan's Kuomintang Air Force over Longtian, Fujian. After shooting down two enemy planes, Du Fengrui was seriously injured and forced to parachute, and was attacked by enemy planes during the landing and died a heroic death. After Du Fengrui's death, the Air Force posthumously recorded a first-class meritorious service for him and awarded him the honorary title of "Du Fengrui Squadron" to the squadron where he was during his lifetime.

Wenchuan Earthquake Relief Airborne Corps' request for war

"A strong earthquake struck the Wenchuan region of Sichuan, and the people in the affected areas are facing serious danger to their lives. For this reason, I asked the military party committee to fight the war, resolutely fulfill the disaster relief tasks entrusted by the party and the people, and swear to protect the lives and safety of the masses to the death. This letter of war preserved in the National Museum of China was written by Li Zhenbo, a veteran of Huang Jiguang's unit before his death.

Li Zhenbo and 15 other airborne troops who risked their lives to parachute into Mao County petitioned for war.

At 8:30 a.m. on May 13, 2008, a paratrooper rescue team composed of 100 officers and soldiers, including 48-year-old Li Zhenbo, boarded a plane bound for Maoxian County after a devastating earthquake struck Wenchuan, Sichuan. Due to the complicated terrain and unclear situation in the disaster area, the disaster relief unit decided to select 15 backbone parachute jumpers from among the 100 advance team members to open the passage. These simple and sincere letters of petition have now become a precious memorial of that mission. Some people say that this is a "suicide note" written by the soldiers before the battle, but Li Zhenbo disagrees: "Please fight for victory, not for sacrifice!" ”

15 Airborne Soldiers.

In the end, at noon on 14 May, Li Zhenbo and 15 other airborne troops formed an advance detachment, and under the "three nos" conditions of no meteorological data, no ground markings, and no command guidance, they "blindly jumped" from an altitude of 5,000 meters to the area of Maoxian County, the hardest-hit area, and became a "sharp knife" inserted into the epicenter. Braving many aftershocks, they climbed mountains and mountains, walked 220 kilometers, reconnoitred the disaster situation in seven townships and 55 villages, and reported more than 30 batches of important disasters to their superiors. Fifteen warriors fought continuously for 7 days and 6 nights to transmit the disaster situation, open up an airborne field, build an information channel for internal and external contact, and successfully completed the rescue mission of parachuting into the disaster area.
