Recently, Shiqi Town Nursing Home has completed the drainage and remediation project, which effectively solves the problem of waterlogging caused by heavy rain, and makes the elderly in the hospital feel more at ease.
The Shiqi Nursing Home is an old-fashioned nursing home that has been in use for 30 years, and its original underground drainage network can no longer cope with the increasing amount of rain and sewage drainage in recent years. In September last year, the heavy rainstorm caused rainwater backflow and waterlogging in the nursing home, causing a lot of safety hazards, and 41 elderly people needed to be evacuated urgently. Faced with this problem, the Shiqi Township Party Committee and Township Government acted quickly, joined hands with the nursing home, invited professional institutions to conduct on-site inspections, and designed a detailed drainage and remediation plan.

After receiving the project financial support from the Panyu District Charity Association, the renovation project was officially launched in March this year. During the remediation process, the engineering team adopted flower-based enclosure measures for the key low-lying sections of the nursing home, forming an effective "flood control embankment", and at the same time, movable stainless steel gates and sandbags were added in the low-lying areas to ensure that they could be navigated on sunny days and prevent waterlogging on rainy days.
In the living area, the nursing home has added a large-displacement drainage pipe network and two strong drainage pumps to cope with the influx of large amounts of rainwater. In addition, the new enclosed water collection well can drain rainwater for natural discharge, and a submersible sewage strong drainage pump has been added to the water collection well, when the water level reaches the warning line, the submersible sewage strong drainage pump will be automatically started to carry out forced discharge to ensure that there will be no water accumulation in the hospital.

Even though heavy rainfall has been frequent in the past two months, there have been no serious problems. The safety of the elderly in the hospital is well guaranteed. ”
The drainage and remediation project not only solves the potential safety hazards of the nursing home, but also makes the elderly living in the home feel at ease.
