On May 17th, I walked into the Miaoergou Scenic Area located in Miaoergou Village, Shuixigou Town, Urumqi County, where the continuous lawn and undulating mountains were full of greenery. However, those ice waterfalls of different sizes in the mountains make people feel like they have entered winter again.

Located in the center of the scenic spot, in front of the Longwang Waterfall with a drop of more than 50 meters, a huge ice wall is crystal clear, with several staff members continue to excavate, a corridor in the middle of the ice wall is not wide, and it has begun to take shape.
"The excavation of the Internet celebrity ice gallery is the work we carry out every year, mainly to facilitate tourists to see the waterfall and enjoy the ice here in summer." Makan Abukan, the person in charge of Miaoergou Scenic Area, said.
Why can you enjoy ice outdoors in the hot summer? Makan Abukan says this is due to the many waterfalls and high altitude of the area.

"There are Longwang Waterfall and a number of small waterfalls in the scenic area, and in summer it is a 'silver chain' landscape that flows straight down, and in winter it will form a spectacular ice waterfall and ice wall. In addition, the average altitude of the scenic spot is about 1,900 meters, and the temperature is lower than that of the plains at the same latitude, so the ice and snow are not easy to melt. According to previous years, the waterfall freezes in December and freezes until mid-April, and the ice walls usually don't melt completely until the end of June or early July, Makan Abukan said.
Because of such a unique landscape, the scenic spot also attracts a large number of citizens and tourists to come to watch and escape the heat every year. Taking this as an opportunity, Miaoergou Scenic Area also uses the existing ice wall to artificially dig an ice corridor to bring citizens and tourists an out-of-season landscape experience.

"It is expected that around the 25th, our ice corridor will be completed, and the icefall will have completely melted, and citizens and tourists can come to the scenic spot to escape the heat and enjoy the natural ice and snow wonderland." Makan Abchan said.
It is understood that Miaoergou Scenic Area is about 40 kilometers away from the downtown area of Urumqi, where the peaks are stacked and green, the forest is dense, and the green water surrounds the scenery, creating a high mountain plank road, nomadic characteristic homestay garden (yurt area), and riding routes.
