Breast cancer is one of the most common malignancies in women. In order to effectively reduce the mortality rate of breast cancer, early detection, early diagnosis and early treatment are crucial. Therefore, the use of simple, effective and cost-effective examination methods for initial screening has become a critical step in the clinical treatment process.
At present, imaging examinations such as ultrasound, mammography and MRI are commonly used in the medical field for early diagnosis of breast cancer. These tests are important for the early detection of breast cancer, however, there is still a certain risk of missing the diagnosis. Traditionally, the gold standard for breast cancer diagnosis is tissue biopsy, which includes fine needle aspiration biopsy, coarse needle aspiration biopsy, surgical excisional biopsy, and vacuum-assisted core needle breast biopsy technology that emerged in the 90s of the 20th century. Among them, the most representative is the vacuum-assisted minimally invasive breast atherectomy system.
The vacuum-assisted minimally invasive breast atherectomy system is mainly composed of two devices: a rotary knife and a vacuum suction pump. Combined with a B-ultrasound or mammography system, it enables precise resection of deep breast lesions, especially tiny, non-palpable tumors. Compared with traditional fine needle and coarse needle aspiration biopsy, the system has a higher diagnostic accuracy. Compared to the large incisions of traditional surgery, the device requires an incision of only 2-3 mm, which is less damaging to normal tissues, significantly reduces the risk of infection, and has a faster recovery time after surgery. Its unique hollow puncture needle design allows only one puncture in the whole operation, avoiding the risk of tumor cell detachment and needle metastasis that may be caused by multiple punctures.
At the same time, the vacuum-assisted minimally invasive breast atherectomy system can take 8 times the sample volume of the traditional hollow coarse needle in a single puncture, which greatly reduces the possibility of false negative pathology. The operation time is short, the pain is mild, and the removal time of a single mass is only 10 to 30 minutes, which greatly reduces the operation time. After surgery, the patient can move freely, which is far more convenient than traditional surgical excision.
