It is understood that the core protection area of the rice-fish composite system in the meltwater mountains covers 7 townships and towns, including Antai Township, Tonglian Yao Township, Rolling Bei Dong Township, Gongdong Township, Anqi Township, Gongdong Township, Hongshui Township, etc., with an area of 51,000 mu of rice-fish system, and the main fish species are "meltwater field carp", and the rice varieties are purple and black fragrant glutinous, red glutinous, fragrant japonica glutinous, local big glutinous, blood glutinous, black rice and other meltwater local characteristic rice. By the end of 2023, the county's comprehensive rice-fish planting and breeding area will reach 115,000 mu, the rice-fish comprehensive planting and breeding industry will cover 80% of the county's poverty alleviation population, and the per capita income of rice-fish comprehensive planting and breeding will reach more than 1,000 yuan; Among them, the core protection area of agricultural cultural heritage is maintained at 52,000 mu, and the number of households participating in the rice and fish system has reached 22,300.
In recent years, the Rongshui County Party Committee and the County People's Government have attached great importance to the protection of agricultural cultural heritage, strictly protected the agricultural cultural heritage resources in the mountainous rice-fish composite system, and carried out agricultural culture and education activities to let more people understand the history, culture and value of the mountainous rice-fish complex system in northwest Guangxi. At the same time, strengthen the inheritance and promotion of traditional farming skills, handicrafts and folk festivals. Hold festivals such as "Xinhe Festival", "Fish Festival" and "Golden Autumn Roasted Fish Season", and take the opportunity of Rongshui National All-for-One Tourism Demonstration Zone and Guangxi's characteristic tourism counties to create a series of activities of "Golden Autumn Roasted Fish Season" and a modern characteristic agricultural demonstration area integrating leisure agricultural tourism and rural revitalization, expand the influence of agricultural culture, and do a good job in the excavation, protection, inheritance, utilization and development of the "Multi-ethnic Mountain Field and Fish Complex System in Northwest Guangxi", so that this agricultural cultural heritage with important value will shine with new brilliance.
