I always have to go to the prairie once this summer, every day is like shuttling in the wallpaper. Blue sky and white clouds, turquoise grassy slopes, and flocks of sheep are like a fairy tale. Every grassland is different, and it's important to choose one that suits you and can be used as a travel destination.
1. Inner Mongolia-Hulunbuir Prairie
Next to Mongolia and Russia, one of the four steppes of the world. It is the best place to escape the heat in summer. There are endless grasslands, and there are also rolling Daxing'an Mountains. Taking Hailar as a starting point, you can connect Manzhouli, Montenegro, Mozhigrad River, Enhe Russian Nationality Township, Erguna Wetland and other scenic spots in series.
The Morgrad River meanders like a Milky Way embedded in the steppe. Asia's largest wetland, the Erguna Wetland, maintains the most pristine natural features. With the winding Ergun River on one side of the border road and the Russian scenery on the other side, the scenery is overwhelming.
2. Inner Mongolia-Ulan Butong
Ulan Butong is located in the southwest of Keshiketeng Banner in Chifeng City, and is very close to Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei. It is a photographer's paradise with rich scenery and many historical sites, including canyons, lakes, streams, ravines, and the famous Qing Dynasty royal Mulan Enclosure to the south. After the beginning of autumn, the autumn fields are also epic.
3. Inner Mongolia-Xilin Gol Prairie
It means "river on the plateau" in Mongolian and is located in Xilinhot City, Xilingol League. It is the main natural grassland of the Inner Mongolia grassland and the closest grassland pastoral area to the capital Beijing. It can be said to be a model grassland in Eurasia, with abundant grassland forms, abundant water and grass, and herds of cattle and sheep.
4. Inner Mongolia - Huiteng Xile Grassland
Located in the middle banner of the right wing of Chahar in Ulanqab City, Huiteng Xiler grassland is one of the best-preserved typical alpine meadow grasslands in the world, with particularly cool summers and an average maximum temperature of 18 °C. In the valley is a fairy tale grassland full of flowers, along the way there are endless wind power facilities, and the remains of volcanic groups tens of millions of years ago, which are rare grassland volcanoes in the world.
5. Xinjiang-Yili-Nalati Grassland
Narati is known as the "Aerial Grassland". From the top ice flowers that bloom in early April to the sage in late June, the flowers bloom all over the grassland, decorating the endless grassland and turning Nalati into a sea of colorful flowers. On one side of the Celestial Boundary Platform is the vast snow-capped mountains of the emerald green grassland, and on the other side is the vast snow-capped mountains of the dark green grassland. The nomadic family at the foot of the snow-capped mountain sits quietly on the grass with few people, and the scenery is everywhere on the hillside by the stream.
6. Xinjiang-Bayingolin-Bayingbrook
The second largest grassland in the mainland, more than 20 rivers, 13 springs, and 7 lakes flow through this land. Large and small swampy lakes are connected together. Yurts, black-headed sheep, wild black swans, snow-capped mountains... The scenery is infinite, and you can also enjoy the sunset of the nine bends and eighteen bends of the Kaidu River.
7. Xinjiang-Ili-Karajun grassland
About 50 kilometers away from the county seat of Turks, the Karajun grassland is a pure pasture with a velvet-like texture, and the undulating terrain of the alpine forest makes it called the "human grassland". In mid-June, the Flower Stand is full of flowers, and the Falcon Terrace is a canyon and spruce intertwined with the Wizard of Oz. Whether you hike or ride the Grand Canyon, you can feel the magic and charm of nature.
8. Sichuan-Ganzi-Tagong grassland
Tagong Grassland is located in Tagong Town, Kangding City, backed by the famous Yala Sacred Mountain, with a typical alpine meadow landscape. The Tagong grassland in summer is a scenic spot worth stopping on 318. There are two snow-capped mountains that can be seen in the Tagong grassland, the sharper is the Yala Snow Mountain, and the relatively flat Qinghuan Sacred Mountain, and the thick snow can only be seen from the end of October to April of the next year.
9. Sichuan-Aba-Ruoergai grassland
Known as the "oasis of the northwestern Sichuan plateau", it is like an emerald inlaid on the border of northwest Sichuan, and is one of the three major wetlands in the mainland. Here you can see the Yellow River showing a graceful posture on the grassland, cattle and sheep and villages scattered on this plateau wetland, and the flowers are blooming in spring and summer.
10. Sichuan-Ganzi-Maoya prairie
Maoya Prairie is located in the west of Litang County, between 3,800 meters and 4,500 meters above sea level, with dozens of kilometers of green grassland, which is a natural pasture hidden between the snow-capped mountains. If you go 318 in summer, you can stop properly to see the grassland, and July and August every year are the golden period of the grassland flowers. Colorful wildflowers are in full bloom, as if walking in a painting. The altitude is high, and it is not recommended to stay overnight here.
11. Qinghai-Haibei-Qilian Mountain Grassland
Straddling the provinces of Gansu and Qinghai, Qilian flows from ice and snow meltwater that nourishes vast oases downstream. July and August are the best months to visit, and the cloud ranch is full of endless green waves, rape flowers and wildflowers. The grassland changes from green to golden, and the snow-white mountain tops reflect each other, driving on the highway, like galloping in an oil painting.
12. Gansu-Gannan-Sankee grassland
Sangke Grassland is located in Xiahe County, Gannan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, with an area of 70 square kilometers and an altitude of 3,000 meters. This is the legendary place where King Gesar pays homage to the gods, with clear blue skies and flowering grasslands. A national highway G316 crosses the grassland, on the way you can see herds of cattle, sheep and horses, and you can enjoy the different shapes of grassland slopes on the way.
13. Tibet-Nagqu-Qiangtang Grassland
Nestled between the Kunlun Mountains, the Tanggula Mountains and the Gangdis Mountains, the Nagqu Grassland is not only a haven for wildlife, but also a culturally fertile land with rich sedimentary layers. Unlike the desolate uninhabited area of the northern Tibetan plateau, this is a high-quality plateau pasture. The lakes are dotted with stars, green grass is dotted with flowers, and many rare birds and beasts such as wild yaks, Tibetan antelopes, and Tibetan wild asses appear from time to time.
14. Guizhou-Liupanshui-Wumeng Prairie
Liupanshui is known as the cool capital of China, with an average temperature of 19 °C in summer, which is super suitable for summer to escape the heat. The Wumeng prairie in May ~ August is beautiful, the spectacular windmill, the sunrise of the sea of clouds, and the light of the Buddha. As long as you avoid holidays, this meadow in the clouds is a relaxing summer resort.
15. Hebei-Fengning-Bashang Grassland
In summer, it is a cool summer resort with only 20 °C, Fengning Bashang grassland, a 100km long Baili Tianlu, lying on the top of the mountains with an average altitude of 1982m, which is a very beautiful plateau self-driving route. The endless prairie is known for its beautiful natural scenery and is full of wild interest. The typical temperate grassland has a significant seasonal change, which is not only a high-quality natural pasture, but also an ideal summer destination.
