On the occasion of the 34th National Day for the Disabled, on the morning of May 17, sponsored by the Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism and undertaken by the Provincial Library, Gansu Bamboo Slips Museum and Lanzhou Library, the "Reading and Enjoying the Four Seasons" Poetry Recital for Disabled Readers was successfully held in the Bamboo Slips Museum. This activity not only allows readers with disabilities to experience the excellent traditional Chinese culture, but also further protects the reading rights of persons with disabilities in the form of study visits, poetry recitals, seminars and exchanges, continuously enriches the spiritual and cultural life of persons with disabilities, encourages more persons with disabilities to love reading and learning, promotes the main theme, transmits positive energy, and creates a good atmosphere for the whole society to understand, care for and help persons with disabilities.
The activity included three sections: study visits, poetry recitals, and symposiums and exchanges, focusing on the culture of bamboo slips, poetry and literature, singing and dancing arts, etc., fully demonstrating the positive attitude towards life and the spirit of self-esteem, self-confidence, self-improvement and self-reliance of the disabled in Gansu Province in the new era. During the visit, the visually impaired readers were carefully cared for by volunteers one-on-one, and followed the docent of the Bamboo Slips Museum to visit in an orderly manner. They were full of curiosity about the precious slips that could not be touched in the museum, listened carefully to the introduction of the docents, and constantly asked the volunteers about the details of each exhibit, so as to experience the rich culture and history of Gansu. In the poetry recitation and discussion and exchange session, the disabled readers performed the harmonica solo of "My Motherland and Me", "Sing the Hymn of Life", "Yanyu Jiangnan", "Three Ancient Poems", "Qinyuan Spring and Snow", "Zhu Ziqing's Prose and Green" recitation, "Youth Dance", "Paradise" solo, "Flowers and Youth" flute solo and other programs, expressing the emotions of the disabled people listening to the party, feeling the party's kindness, and following the party, and showing the disabled people's love for the motherland, love life, self-confidence, self-improvement, and optimism.
Readers with disabilities said that this activity not only made them feel the charm of Jianmu, but also enhanced their understanding of the construction and development of urban cultural venues in Gansu, which not only learned knowledge, broadened their horizons, but also made them happy. In the future, I will continue to read, actively participate in cultural activities, meet friends with literature and increase affection with books, cultivate a good lifestyle, and strive to make more contributions to society and add color to life. More than 100 people, including disabled readers, public service offices of the Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism, provincial libraries, Gansu Bamboo Slips Museum, Lanzhou Library, and Nanhe New Village Community, Weiyuan Road Street, Chengguan District, Lanzhou City, participated in the event.
