Taiwan's legislature yesterday (May 17) staged an all-out military exercise due to its own reform bill, and a large-scale push broke out at the door of the parliament hall in the morning. The rostrum staged a number of offensive and defensive battles.

According to Taiwan's "China Times News Network," negotiations broke down at nearly 17 p.m. yesterday afternoon, and a number of representatives of the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) blocked Han Kuo-yu, head of the legislative body of the ousted authorities, from entering the meeting hall and at the same time attempted to break into the rostrum, breaking two doors to the meeting hall. Among them, Wang Dingyu, a public opinion representative of the Democratic Progressive Party, kicked Liao Xianxiang, a public opinion representative of the Kuomintang, and Liao got up after being thrown to the ground.

In order to prevent DPP representative Xu Zhijie from jumping onto the rostrum, the two sides beat each other, DPP representative Guo Guowen jumped into the rostrum, and Kuomintang representative Huang Jianbin intercepted and grabbed Guo Guowen.

Kuomintang public opinion representative Chen Jinghui was suddenly grabbed by the DPP public opinion representative Zhong Jiabin, fell off the table, and then fell to the ground again, but the DPP flanks continued to spread rumors on the Internet that it was Chen Jinghui who collided with Zhong Jiabin, and Zhong hugged Chen to "protect" her and seriously injured the victim twice!

The Kuomintang caucus said that the meeting hall was not a Shura field for seeking revenge and venting anger, and that Secretary General Zhou Wanlai, who was in his 70s, was still violently attacked, which was outrageous. The conflict in the meeting hall should not be an excuse for sexual harassment, please ask the DPP representative Zhong Jiabin not to make excuses and resign immediately! There is no respect for the indiscriminate use of violence and the touching of women's body parts in an extremely uncomfortable way!

Kuomintang Chairman Zhu Lilun criticized the DPP for becoming a "violent and lawless party," and apparently still unable to understand the new public opinion of the new legislature deputies.

All the above chaotic scenes are not uncommon in the legislature of the Taiwan authorities. This chaotic situation fully reflects the complexity and chaos of Taiwan's political ecology. In order to compete for power and interests, various political parties do not hesitate to use all kinds of extreme means instead of resolving problems through rational dialogue and consultation. Such a political environment is not only unfavorable to Taiwan's development and stability, but also makes the broad masses of the people worry and disappointed about Taiwan's future.

According to Hong Kong's "Ta Kung Pao", in recent years, violence and chaos in the legislature of the Taiwan region have occurred frequently:

In February 2024, there was a physical altercation at the first meeting of the new legislature in Taiwan. Blue-green public opinion representatives started fighting on the spot. Many people on the island said that "this is the familiar Taiwan legislature."

In September 2021, the KMT's public opinion representatives were dissatisfied with Su Zhenchang, then the head of the DPP administration's administrative body, who shirked his responsibility for the ineffective epidemic prevention, and boycotted Su Zhenchang's policy address in the Taiwan legislature, and a physical altercation broke out with the DPP public opinion representatives.

In November 2020, Taiwan's mainstream public opinion opposed the DPP authorities' import of American lean pork, and the KMT's public opinion representatives brought a large amount of unwashed pork offal into the legislature in protest against the DPP authorities.

In July 2020, when Taiwan's legislature voted on the personnel bill of Taiwan's supervisory body, the blue and green parties staged a physical altercation. The Kuomintang caucus took out a water balloon and smashed it at You Xikun, then the head of the legislature of the DPP authorities, and the scene instantly turned into a "water polo battle", and the scene was chaotic.

In July 2017, within a week of the preliminary approval of the "First Special Budget for the Forward-looking Infrastructure Plan" by Taiwan's legislature, at least three physical clashes broke out between the blue-green camp in the legislature. [Source: Huaxia Graticule Comprehensive Report]
