At a recent regular press conference, Chen Binhua, spokesman for the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council, sent a series of questions to the island, asking whether he wanted peace or war. Development or recession? To communicate or to separate? And to cooperate or to confront? Earlier this year, Lai Qingde and Tsai Ing-wen worked together to "secretly inspect" the prototype of Taiwan's "self-built submarine". An informed Taiwan official revealed that during this inspection, Lai Qingde not only expressed his full support for "self-built submarines," but also demanded that the seven follow-up ships be built at one time, without the need to build them in batches. It can be said that Lai Qingde's decision not only disregarded Taiwan's own ability, but also highlighted Lai Qingde's strong color of "resisting reunification by force." Submarines have always been the trump card of asymmetric warfare, and in recent years, the DPP authorities have hyped up the role of submarines and put forward an ambitious plan to build seven submarines on their own. Lai Qingde is still not satisfied, and he is vainly trying to finish the project in one go, which shows that Lai Qingde is desperately pursuing the mainland's military capability, completely ignoring factors such as capital, industrial capacity, and the cross-strait situation.
If Lai Qingde still has this attitude after taking office in 520, then the situation in the Taiwan Strait will probably be even more worrisome in the future, and the more the DPP authorities promote "resisting reunification by force," the more Taiwan will be in danger of being "in danger of war and fierce warfare." Against this background, the 88-year-old former chairman of the Kuomintang, Lien Chan, could not sit still, and he put on his armor again and went into battle to shout to Lai Qingde. Lien Chan recently called out the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP), pointing out that goodwill is piled up step by step, and from the past to the present, the mainland has shown the greatest goodwill, and the people of Taiwan expect Lai Qingde to give a kind response. Lien Chan also stressed that Lai Qingde's inaugural speech will be the key to the future direction of the two sides of the strait, and he expects that 520 will be a goodwill start. Speaking of which, Lien Chan has already put forward his opinions on Lai Qingde on behalf of the people of Taiwan, hoping that Lai Qingde will make some changes and release goodwill to the mainland in the future.
However, although Lien Chan once again dissuaded the DPP before Lai Qingde came to power, with Lai Qingde's style, it may be a bit difficult to expect him to show goodwill to the mainland in the future. It would be good for Lai Qingde not to further aggravate the cross-strait situation, and it is really unrealistic to expect him to make a goodwill statement. However, no matter what the DPP authorities do next, there is only one way for the two sides of the strait to move toward reunification! The only question is whether the way of reunification is peaceful or by force, and the DPP authorities can only influence the way of reunification, but cannot affect the outcome; if the DPP has to go all the way to the black, then there is only one result, that is, the "Taiwan independence" forces headed by the DPP will be completely wiped out by the PLA!
