At 09:32 on May 16, 2024, the command center of the Guangzhou Fire Detachment received a report of the fire alarm at No. 93 Renmin South Road, Liwan District, and the detachment immediately dispatched fire rescue forces to the scene to deal with it, and at 11:40, the fire was extinguished. One person was rescued at the scene (confirmed to be a previously missing person), and the medical rescue personnel confirmed that there were no vital signs. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Spanish leather exports have improved
According to the latest data from the General Administration of Customs, in January-February 2024, exports of raw hides and furs from Spain fell by 4.3% to a value of €1 million, while exports of semi-finished leather fell by 30.2% to €4.7 million. At the same time, exports of finished leather improved significantly, increasing by 5.1% to a value of 3.6 million euros.
Compared to 2020, before the pandemic, Spain's exports of hides and skins fell by 18% in the first two months of this year, while exports of semi-finished leather increased by 3.4% and finished leather by 20.9%.
So far this year, imports of raw hides and skins from Spain are down 19.6 percent, semi-finished leather imports are down 9.7 percent and finished leather are down 0.4 percent.
