The South China Sea Branch of the China Coast Guard coordinates maritime law enforcement forces in the sea area, strengthens patrol control, strictly implements the measures of fishing moratorium in the off-season, strictly investigates and punishes illegal fishing by domestic fishing vessels, and severely cracks down on the infringement of fishing infringement by foreign fishing vessels, so as to create a high-pressure control situation in which the enforcement of the off-season fishing moratorium is strict from the beginning. A total of 1,457 coast guard law enforcement vessels, 34 aircraft sorties, and 240 fishery administration vessels were deployed, and 32 fishing-related cases (7 criminal cases and 25 administrative cases) were investigated and handled, 26,926.6 kilograms of fish were confiscated, and 97 vessels involved in the cases were seized. In 2024, there will be more than 44,000 fishing vessels and more than 5,500 fishing vessels exempted from fishing moratoriums in the South China Sea, involving the three provinces (regions) of Guangdong, Guizhou and Qiong, as well as Hong Kong and Macao. In order to further improve the efficiency of law enforcement, the South China Sea Branch has established a law enforcement model of efficient coordination and three-dimensional control of "shore-sea-air" forces, and has effectively implemented the marine off-season fishing moratorium system by carrying out large-scale and high-density patrols and inspections in the whole sea area, severely cracking down on all kinds of fishing-related illegal and criminal acts, effectively conserving marine fishery resources, and safeguarding national marine rights and interests and fishery interests.
