According to the monitoring of the meteorological department, from the night of May 14 to the 15th, affected by a wide range of windy weather, some wheat fields had lodging. Experts from Zhengzhou Agricultural Technology Extension Center gave specific remedial measures.
Don't tie or support
The lodging that occurs in the early and middle stages of wheat filling, because the wheat ear head is relatively light, especially in the wheat field where the lodging is not too serious, the plant has a strong self-adjustment ability, and can generally restore erection to varying degrees without tying or supporting. For the lodging that occurs in the later stage of grain filling, due to the heavy head of the wheat ear, it is not easy to return to erection, and blindly taking auxiliary measures such as manual binding and support, which is not only labor-intensive, but also will cause secondary damage or breakage of the stem.
Disease control
After the lodging of wheat, the stalks and leaves are stacked on top of each other, the group is canopy, and the ventilation and light transmission are poor, which is conducive to the occurrence and aggravation of the disease. Lodging wheat fields should be based on the wheat growth period and the occurrence of diseases and insects, select the right way agents, do a good job in the prevention and control of diseases and pests in time, and reduce the yield loss caused by the secondary hazards caused by lodging.
Prevents premature aging
Lodging can easily cause damage or breakage of wheat stems and roots, reduce the stalk transport capacity and root absorption capacity, destroy plant photosynthesis, water and nutrient absorption, and affect the normal grain filling of wheat. Combined with disease prevention and control, mixed spraying of foliar fertilizers such as potassium dihydrogen phosphate can enhance plant photosynthesis, promote grain filling, prolong grain filling time, and reduce the harm of premature aging.
Scientific Gains
After the wheat lodging, the difficulty of mechanical harvesting increases, and large machinery suitable for operation is organized at the end of grain wax maturity or the early stage of ripening, and the harvest quality is ensured by appropriately adjusting the position of the wheel and header, or harvesting in the reverse lodging direction, and the grain is returned to the warehouse. At the same time, pay close attention to the weather changes after lodging, and try to avoid wheat mildew and germination losses caused by precipitation.
