Chinese Confidant is a Chinese teaching APP mainly for overseas, mainly including voice teaching, Putonghua evaluation, online courses, voice social networking and other functions. Based on large-scale high-quality voice, picture and video big data, using advanced technologies such as pulse map, artificial intelligence and brain-like computing, the Chinese Confidant app can provide users with accurate Mandarin evaluation results and analysis, and provide personalized intelligent tutoring. The Chinese Friends team hopes to provide a friendly, interactive and efficient learning platform for Chinese learners around the world through this app.
Let Chinese become the universal language of the world
The Chinese Friends team is composed of a group of young people who have a strong passion for the international promotion of Chinese, and have a relentless pursuit of telling Chinese stories well and establishing China's image. They are well aware that learning Chinese is a difficult task for non-native speakers, and they also realize that with the rise of China and the trend of globalization, more and more people want to learn Chinese. Through in-depth market research, they found that most of the existing Chinese learning resources are too traditional and not systematic and centralized enough, and the complex pronunciation system of Chinese is even more prohibitive for many Chinese learners. Driven by this idea, the idea of the "Chinese Confidant" app came into being.
From the proposal of ideas, to the establishment of project content, to the completion of the first version of the program sample, to the follow-up participation in the competition, the Chinese Soulmate team continues to improve and grow.
Dreams originate, just do it
Du Yihuan, the leader of the Chinese Zhiyin team, studied broadcasting and hosting at Communication University of China, and she also met several international students in the school's public elective classes. After in-depth communication, I realized that the content of Chinese pronunciation, which I often learn and practice on weekdays, is a hurdle in language learning for them. Lacking effective learning paths and materials, non-native Chinese learners can only explore it slowly on their own. In addition to the useless time and energy spent in this process, it often leads to a dead end.
After communicating with more international students, Du Yihuan gradually realized that this is not just the dilemma of one or two people, but other international students may also face the same problem. And it was from this time that a seed began to sprout in her heart, and how to help foreigners better learn Chinese became a question that Du Yihuan often thought about.
And by chance, the idea of creating a professional Chinese language learning app began to take shape, and the story of Chinese Confidant began.
Professional blessing, from shallow to deep
The School of Broadcasting and Hosting of Communication University of China has first-class Chinese pronunciation teaching resources in China. After learning about the idea of the "Chinese Zhiyin" app, the teachers of the college also affirmed the idea. In order to get the best results, the Chinese Friends team and the college worked together and invited expert teachers from the broadcasting and hosting profession to provide guidance.
After working with the professional teachers and teams of broadcasting and hosting, the Chinese Knowing Friend team recorded a large number of standard voices, covering the classification of difficult points, Putonghua test words, reading literary works and emerging online terms. The major and difficult points such as monosyllabics, disyllabics, initials, finals, and children's pronunciations are also classified in detail.
It is precisely because of the emphasis on phonetic accuracy that the Chinese Confidant team pursues the standard of each syllable, so that learners can master Chinese pronunciation faster and better. At the same time, the team also paid attention to the development and changes of the language, and provided learners with the evolution of ancient sounds, local dialects, and new terms on the Internet.
After a large amount of recorded material was collated and edited, the team completed a standard phonetic library with a variety of pronunciations. With the "Standard Pronunciation Model Reading", learners can use the app to hear the standard pronunciation and imitate the exercises to improve their pronunciation. After the implementation of this function, it can bridge the huge gap of other Chinese learning software, solve the pain points for Chinese learners, and bring real convenience. With the steady progress of the project, the team members are also full of confidence.
Recruit troops and overcome difficulties
After the basic functions of the app were determined, the advancement of the Chinese Soulmate project gradually came to a standstill. Among the team members, only a small number of people have an in-depth understanding of the design of mobile phone programs, and the Internet electronic information engineering talents in the team are in a state of shortage. Without the corresponding technical support, no matter how good the ideas and resources are, they can only be in the air, and the development of the project has entered a bottleneck at this time.
Under this predicament, team leader Du Yihuan looked for friends who were willing to cooperate with programming, computer and network majors, and with continuous efforts, many friends from the School of Computer and Network of Communication University of China and the School of Software of Tsinghua University joined the Chinese Friends team. With the cooperation of the product design department and the technical department, the underlying code of the app began to be built. The dreams of Du Yihuan and his team members are starting to become reality.
Work hard together and achieve fruitful results
Since its inception, the "Chinese Soulmate" app project has received a lot of help and support. Through the unremitting efforts and collaboration of team members, the product has completed several iterations and has reached the final stage of development, and is expected to be launched on the app market in October.
In the process of promoting the project, the team has also participated in many innovation and entrepreneurship competitions and gained valuable experience.
In 2021, he participated in the competition for the first time and won the Beijing Gold Award and the National Bronze Award of the 7th China International "Internet +" College Student Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition, which got a good start and greatly improved the self-confidence of the team members.
In 2022, after a year of precipitation, he participated in the China International "Internet +" College Student Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition again and won the Beijing Gold Award and the National Bronze Award.
Later, he won the Beijing Gold Award in the "Youth Innovation Beijing" Challenge Cup, and was awarded the "100 Golden Seeds" project of innovation and entrepreneurship by Beijing University Students by the Beijing Municipal Education Commission. At the same time, the team members also took the volunteer work of the Winter Olympics as an opportunity to gather students from universities in the capital who are interested in foreign cultural communication, and formed a "Chinese Confidant" community, which has now covered 50 students from 3 universities.
Step by step precipitation, step by step success
The journey of entrepreneurship is like a letter full of expectations and longings, an unknown but desirable journey. When you first embark on this journey, this strange land will always make people feel at a loss and lost, but only the determination to move forward has led generations of entrepreneurs to walk alone.
