On May 16, the construction of the substructure of the 5 Maochen Town overpass of the Beijing-Hong Kong-Macao Expressway Reconstruction and Expansion Project of China Railway Bridge Bureau was completed, marking that the construction of the overpass has fully entered the stage of beam erection and bridge deck construction. A few days ago, the pouring of the central separation belt within the scope of the overpass line in Maochen Town was completed, and the construction of the project has made phased progress.

Maochen Town Overpass is located in Longhu Village, Maochen Town, Xiaonan District, Xiaogan City, and is the first new overpass in the bidding section. The renovation plan of the flyover is to dismantle 2 and build 1, that is, to build a new steel-concrete composite girder flyover with a total length of 81.5 meters, and then dismantle the existing 2 continuous beam flyovers. After the completion of the construction of the overpass in Maochen Town, a new cross-line road will be built, laying a solid foundation for the subsequent demolition of the existing overpass and the expansion of the Beijing-Hong Kong-Macao Expressway.

It is understood that the central separation zone within the guidance and modification of the flyover line in Maochen Town is divided into three sections, with a cumulative length of 172 meters. According to the actual situation of the site, the project department optimized the construction organization plan, and used the pump truck as the transit point for concrete cross-line transportation, which reduced the transportation operation time and reduced the safety risk of road-related construction. After the pouring of the central separator is completed, a good foundation has been laid for the temporary road diversion during the subsequent road-related construction. Since the pouring of the first cast-in-place pile was completed on April 1, it took one and a half months to complete the construction of 4 piers, 4 sets of substructures, 2 back walls and 2 ear walls of the Maochen Town Overpass.

The main line of the Beijing-Hong Kong-Macao Expressway Reconstruction and Expansion Project Section 5 is 17.2 kilometers long, starting from Dongyue Village, Maochen Town, Xiaonan District, and crossing the Wuxiao Intercity Railway and the Qiaoxiao Phase II Expressway under construction, and ending at the East and West Lake Hub. After the completion of the line, it will unblock the national north-south transportation artery, improve and optimize the expressway network in Hubei Province, improve the safe operation level of the national transportation channel, integrate the highway channel resources in the development area, improve the road service level and driving safety, and become a powerful starting point for promoting the high-quality development of the Yangtze River Economic Belt.
