In the past year, the Loufan County Women's Federation has continuously improved the volunteer service system, focusing on "caring for orphaned children's volunteer service activities", starting from the growth needs and psychological needs of orphaned children, innovating the form of activities, enriching the service content, and doing a good job in caring for orphaned children.
Pay attention to training and incentives, and strengthen team building. In March 2023, the Loufan County Women's Federation established a volunteer service group and management committee for orphaned and needy children. At present, there are 31 regular volunteers and 52 reserve volunteers, including staff of the Women's Federation, volunteers of the Red Cross, teachers, medical staff, etc. The county women's federation also actively organized volunteers to participate in the training. In 2023, volunteers will be organized to carry out more than 30 family education activities in communities, villages, and schools, and many times they will go to Jinan and Taiyuan for psychology training and Chinese culture learning. Volunteers have 15 monthly meetings to focus on learning, and 3 volunteers have participated in the 2023 Loufan County New Era Civilization Practice Business Backbone (Volunteer) Quality Improvement Training. Regularly organize team building activities, and select 5 outstanding volunteers of the year at the end of the year, 2 of which were commended by the Propaganda Department of the county party committee. Organize core volunteers to participate in the 10 sessions of "Moral Education, Family Style, Happiness and Annoyance" family education training organized by the County Women's Federation in 2024, and have studied two sessions so far. Through continuous learning, training, commendation and encouragement, the professional ability of volunteers has been greatly improved, and the level of care service has been further improved.
Pay attention to the actual effect and implement precise assistance. At the beginning of 2023, the Loufan County Women's Federation and the Taiyuan Hand-in-Hand Help Center will conduct a thorough investigation of left-behind children, orphans, de facto unsupported children and children from other difficult families in the county. The women volunteers visited 15 orphans and de facto unsupported children under the age of 14, and finally 8 women volunteers paired up with the children one by one. The women volunteers insisted on carrying out caring service actions once a month, and let the children feel the warmth of the social family by playing games with the children, learning intangible cultural heritage handicrafts together, and carrying out rehabilitation training for children with intellectual disabilities. Through the visits, the relationship between the volunteers and the children has deepened, the smiles on the children's faces have increased, and they have become more motivated to live and study.
Focus on broadening horizons and carrying out theme activities. Women volunteers carried out a variety of activities with the theme of "loving the motherland and loving the hometown". In 2023, two summer camps and one research activity were organized. In 2024, collective activities such as sending blessing bags to nursing homes and bringing intangible cultural heritage into families will be organized. Through organizing group activities, the children have established new friendships, broadened their horizons, further improved their self-confidence, and significantly improved their social communication skills.
