In order to further improve the medical and health service system, promote the expansion of high-quality medical resources and the balanced layout of regions, and effectively improve the province's medical and health service capacity, the Jiangsu Provincial Health Commission recently issued the "Notice on the Establishment of 9 Specialized Provincial Regional Medical Centers for Trauma and Other Specialties (Su Wei Yizheng [2024] No. 11). The notice pointed out that according to the selection results and regional layout, after research, it was decided to set up 9 specialties, 32 provincial-level regional medical centers, and 13 regional medical center construction units.
It is required to continue to strengthen the construction and strive to create a national regional medical center in accordance with the standards set by the national regional medical center. The hospitals where the construction units are located should benchmark against the table, coordinate the resources of the whole hospital, form a joint force, speed up the construction progress, and build a provincial-level regional medical center as soon as possible. All localities should clarify the list of supporting policies to support the construction of provincial-level regional medical centers, and fully support the construction of regional medical centers in terms of financial investment, establishment and management, personnel compensation, scientific and technological innovation, and the introduction and training of high-level talents, so as to promote a more balanced distribution of regional high-quality medical resources.
