Persons with disabilities are a group with special difficulties and an important member of the social family. Caring for, respecting, and helping the disabled is an important part of carrying forward the spirit of socialist humanitarianism and an important symbol of economic development and social progress. To this end, on the occasion of the 34th Day for the Disabled, the Working Committee for Persons with Disabilities of the People's Government of Weng'an County issued an initiative to the whole society:
1. Start from me, inherit and carry forward the traditional virtues of helping the disabled. There are more than 12,200 disabled people in Weng'an County, accounting for about 2.4% of the total population of the county, which is a relatively large number of groups. 3. Start with me and create a good social trend of helping the disabled. "Dedication, fraternity, mutual assistance, progress" is the fashion of the new era. Party and government organs, public institutions, and state-owned enterprises at all levels in the county give full play to their own advantages, promote the improvement of the social security system and care service system for the disabled, and do a solid job in the rehabilitation and care of the disabled, education and employment, medical and social security, housing safety, barrier-free environment construction, visits, condolences and assistance, and other related work, to help the disabled solve the urgent, difficult, and worrying things in life; With a sincere sense of fraternity and social responsibility, the county's business community has joined the county's public welfare alliance for employment and entrepreneurship for the disabled, developed employment positions suitable for the disabled, actively hired the disabled, and gave priority to purchasing products to help the disabled, so as to help more disabled people break through obstacles, become self-reliant, live and work in peace and contentment, and have more dignity, so that the spirit of "understanding, respect, care, and help" blooms to every corner.
