Nihewan Ruins Park
Nihewan National Archaeological Site Park, with a core area of 4 square kilometers and an AAAA-level scenic spot, has more than 30 sites covering the early, middle and late Paleolithic periods.
The archaeological site park is built according to the standard of 5A-level scenic spots, and is divided into three functional areas: commemorative park, knowledge park and experience park. The memorial park takes the ape-man theme sculpture as the core, and mainly builds a tourist service center, the axis of life on the earth, and a science popularization square, reflecting the development process of oriental human beings in this land. With the Nihewan Research Center as the core, the knowledge park will carry out cooperation in paleoanthropology research at home and abroad by building an international and ecological archaeological research base integrating archaeological research, academic exchanges, cultural relics protection, conference reception, and expert apartments, so as to reveal the important position of the mainland in the history of human development in the world. The experiential park focuses on the ecological restoration of the Sanggan River in the heritage park, sightseeing agriculture and the Maquangou Ruins Museum, and creates an archaeological exploration experience base. Each functional area is connected by plank roads and roads, with the survival, development and evolution of ancient humans as the main line, reproducing the long evolution process of ancient humans from 2 million years.
