On May 15, the Shunde Office of Foshan Customs and Lunbao Kindergarten jointly held a legal popularization campaign with the theme of "Jointly Safeguarding National Security and Jointly Protecting Biodiversity", and delivered a "biology lesson" on national safety to more than 110 teachers and students.
"What can't I bring back when I go abroad?" "Can this foreign insect be bought back as a pet?" ...... In the classroom, Deng Ying, a customs officer of the Foshan Customs Office in Shunde, introduced customs signs, passenger entry and exit, prevention of alien pests, specimen display and other links, so that the children could understand the functions and importance of customs, intuitively experience the complexity and fragility of biodiversity, and cultivate their awareness and sense of responsibility for biodiversity conservation.
Specimen.
In addition, a number of interactive links were also designed, such as quiz games, Guan Hui puzzles, scenario simulations, etc., to explain environmental protection knowledge to the children in an entertaining and educational way.
In the role-playing session, the children played the role of passengers and walked to the "checkpoint" one by one, simulating the scene of immigration inspection. Throughout the simulated immigration process, the children were engaged and serious. "Through hands-on experience and role-playing, the children have a more intuitive understanding of the entry and exit process and requirements, and at the same time experience the importance of protecting the environment and biosecurity," said Zhang Shoufang, principal of Lunbao Kindergarten.
"I know why I can't bring fruits that haven't been quarantined into the country, because it's to protect our environment" "I want to tell my parents not to touch African giant snails casually"...... During the event, the children actively participated in the interaction and said that they would take home what they had learned to share with their families and friends.
"Today's class was very interesting and lively, and the teachers and students gained a lot. Through such activities, the children learned about national security and environmental protection, and knew that alien organisms could threaten the biodiversity of the continent and thus endanger the ecological environment," said Zhang Shoufang.
"National security is an important part of the national security system. Through the form of 'open classes', we explain and publicize the importance of maintaining biodiversity to children, so as to drive the society to enhance the awareness of protecting national biosecurity and refusing to bring 'exotic pets' into the country, and create a good atmosphere for the whole society to pay attention to and protect national biosecurity," said the relevant person in charge of Foshan Customs.
