Since the beginning of this year, the charity cooperation project of "Filial Piety and Respect for the Elderly" has kicked off in Huayang Road Street, which was jointly initiated by Huayang Road Street and Shanghai Charity Foundation Changning Representative Office, through which the disadvantaged groups in the community will receive support and care, and jointly build a more harmonious and loving community environment.
Ms. Xiu's story is a vivid footnote to the launch of this project. Faced with the relentless invasion of the disease and the weight of their daughter's tuition, the family was almost on the verge of collapse. Although the timely intervention of the community assistance consultant has won them a minimum security fund and a series of medical assistance, the burden of life is still heavy on their hearts. However, with the launch of the "Five Supports" project, a beam of charity swept away the haze of Ms. Xiu's home. The project not only provided her with financial assistance, but also included psychological counseling and social integration services, bringing all-round support and care to the family.
The plight of Xiaojun's family, a child in difficulty, is equally worrying. With the difficult support of grandparents, this small family is crumbling. Fortunately, they were also included in the list of project supporters, and through health management and living environment improvement, they brought substantial changes and hope to the family.
According to reports, the core strategy of the "Filial Piety and Respect for the Elderly-Five Supports, Spring Full of Huayang" project is the "Five Supports" service, that is, "poverty alleviation, health support, career support, wisdom support, and aspiration support", and each "support" directly hits the actual pain points of families in difficulty. Through the professional planning of the Community Relief Consultant Studio, the project not only provides direct financial assistance and material assistance, but also covers health management, employment guidance, education and training, mental health and other aspects of support.
The project gives full play to the advantages of the "five social associations" and the "three-level and one-class" organizational structure system of the community assistance consultant workstation, and the "community assistance consultants, supervisors, volunteers, and professional social workers" help group led by party members operates as a team, incarnates as a "general practitioner", and comprehensively sorts out the needs of families in difficulty from the bottom up to achieve "targeted" assistance. Through visits and household surveys, the offline support group conducts a predicament assessment of the family demographic structure, economic status, health status, rigid expenditure, social support, and personal ability of the target in difficulty. The situation of the household assessment was entered into the "Comprehensive Assessment System for the Assistance Needs of the Needy in Changning District" online, and the degree of plight and lack of needs of the help recipients were analyzed and judged from six dimensions: material, health, education, employment, social support, and whether there were children and adolescents at home. In the end, combined with the civil affairs business information system and carefully sorted data, Huayang Road Street locked 46 families in difficulty in the jurisdiction.
After further in-depth and detailed evaluation, the project accurately screened out the specific needs of 269 people from 46 families, including: 25 people in poverty alleviation, 126 people in health support, 4 people in business support, 15 people in Zhizhi and 99 people in Zhizhi, covering 161 adults and 108 minors. Behind these data is the project team's deep understanding and delicate care for each family's plight.
In order to ensure that the project funds are sufficient, Huayang Road Street mobilized two community units, "Shanghai Shangmei Communication Engineering Co., Ltd. and Changning Art School", to make targeted donations, and jointly set up a special assistance fund pool with the Changning District Representative Office of Shanghai Charity Foundation, and implemented a four-level responsibility supervision mechanism to ensure that every cent of the donation can play the maximum effect.
A few days ago, Huayang Road Sub-district held a signing ceremony for 46 needy families at the community rescue consultant service points in various residential areas. The ceremony was filled with emotion and hope, the gratitude of the rescue recipients was overflowing, and the community rescue consultants also strengthened their faith.
The project of "Filial Piety and Respect for the Elderly" is not only an innovative practice of charity action, but also a concentrated demonstration of community warmth and social responsibility, which is gradually weaving into a solid social assistance network and bringing warmth and hope to every corner of Huayang.
