Today (May 15) is the 12th National Low Carbon Day. In order to encourage more citizens and enterprises to participate in the practice of green and low-carbon concepts, Changning District launched the theme publicity activity of "Green and Low-carbon Beautiful Changning" National Low Carbon Day. 64 young people set off from the IBP International Conference Center for a 6-kilometer ride, advocating the social trend of thrift, rational use of energy, and green travel with practical actions.
The bike-sharing bikes that the participants rode were carefully designed. The wheels, baskets and frame are added with patches, the colorful flowers and plants represent vitality, the dark blue starry sky is in harmony with the main color of the bicycle, and the green elements are more in line with the theme slogan of the event.
The event is based on low-carbon cycling, with a total of 1 main venue and 3 check-in points, with a total riding distance of about 6 kilometers and a time of about 40 minutes. Participants from 12 units in Changning District were divided into 13 teams, rode on the special shared bicycles for the event, set off from the front of the IBP International Conference Center, and checked in after the game challenge at two points, Le Yi Habitat Garden and Xinjing Wucun Smart Recycling Bin. Climate jigsaw puzzles, quick questions and answers on carbon reduction knowledge, and participation in the smart recycling bin sorting experience...... A wealth of games make this ride exciting.
What human activities cause extreme climate events? What are the sources of carbon emissions? Under the guidance of the facilitators, participants found the corresponding puzzle pieces, learned more about environmental hotspots such as climate change and plastic pollution, and thought about how to take action to mitigate these problems, and jointly focus on and respond to climate change.
"Is Shanghai a water-scarce city?" "What kind of laundry detergent should I use to protect the water environment?" "What does a low-carbon economy mean?" At the Habitat Garden, the participants started a brain competition in the face of quick questions and answers on carbon reduction knowledge, and learned carbon reduction knowledge in life from the Q&A. "For this event, I deliberately learned some environmental protection knowledge, only to find that there are many casual little things in life that can also choose a more environmentally friendly way." Ms. Cheng, a participant, said.
At each point, the participants received a supply of mineral water, and after arriving at Xinjing Five Villages, the participants threw the mineral water bottles they drank during the ride into the smart recycling bin, experienced the sorting of recyclable garbage and took photos to check in. The staff at the site also distributed the "Beixinjing Street Sustainable Development Low-Carbon Manual" to encourage the participants to cultivate more green living habits in their daily lives.
After collecting the stamps of each point, the participants received the "energy saving and low carbon" souvenirs of the event. The 6-kilometer ride also gave the participants a lot of gains. "I usually ride a shared bicycle for about one or two kilometers, but I tried it today, and I feel that I can ride a longer distance, making travel more energy-efficient and healthy." "The green scenery along the way is very good, so I hope that the environment in which we live will continue to improve." "I hope everyone can start from small things and take action for energy conservation and emission reduction together."
Drive less and take more public transport; Use less disposable products and recycle more; Turn off the lights and go paperless...... Everyone's little actions will converge into a huge synergy to implement the "double carbon" goal. Everyone has become a practitioner, advocate and communicator of green and low-carbon life, and build a beautiful home together.
The event was held by the Changning District Ecological Environment Bureau, together with the East Hongqiao Development Office of the District, the North Xinjing Sub-district Office, the People's Government of Xinjing Town, Shanghai Hello Puhui Technology Co., Ltd., Michelin (China) Investment Co., Ltd., and Shanghai Hongqiao International Science and Technology Industry United Development Co., Ltd.
