Omar was reportedly found in a hay-covered cellar at a neighbor's house about three days ago. Not-so-clear footage shows him being rescued from the cellar with hay crumbs on his head.
Omar, who wore a sweater and a beard, looked sluggish, as if he had lost faith in seeing the light of day.
According to local media reports, the so-called cellar was actually a covered dry well in the sheepfold, and Omar was kept under the hay, and because few people came here, he was never found.
According to Omar's relatives, he was in good health after being rescued. According to a statement issued by the Albanian Ministry of Justice, Omar will receive psychological treatment.
As for why Omar didn't find a way to escape or call for help over the years? The explanation given by the Algerian media is that the kidnappers "cast a spell on him that prevented him from calling for help." I have to say that this explanation is really a bit "magical", but now it can only be so.
As for the reason for the abduction and how Omar was tortured, it is unclear. But the reason why the matter was exposed also stemmed from the family conflicts of the kidnappers. It is reported that the suspect is a 61-year-old janitor who works in the nearby town of Elgadid, who tried to escape but was arrested. Although Omar was rescued, he will never see his mother, who died 11 years ago. There are reports that Omar actually knew of his mother's death while in captivity.
