"Immersive" firefighting experience
In order to further strengthen fire safety publicity and education and training, increase fire protection publicity, promote teachers and students in the school to get close to fire protection, perceive fire protection, understand fire protection, comprehensively enhance the fire safety awareness and self-defense and self-rescue ability of teachers and students, and create a good atmosphere for the whole society to pay attention to fire protection, learn fire protection, and participate in fire fighting, the major teams of Yingkou City Fire and Rescue Detachment actively carry out a series of team station open activities to provide teachers and students in school with opportunities to get close to fire protection and learn fire fighting.
In the open activity of the team station, the major teams of the Yingkou detachment ushered in batches of teachers and students visiting the school. The firefighters used simple and easy-to-understand language to explain to the teachers and students about fire protection, how to prevent fires, how to deal with fires, how to escape, and other issues.
Under the leadership of the firefighters, the teachers and students visited the dormitories, study rooms and other places, and listened to the introduction of firefighting culture, daily living time, training arrangement plan, etc. The firefighters demonstrated the skills of "stacking tofu blocks" on the spot, demonstrated the wearing of fireproof clothing and guided the visiting students to experience combat uniforms and personal protective equipment, and also showed the teachers and students water guns, toothless saws, air breathing apparatus, infrared life detectors and other special equipment for emergency rescue, and explained in detail the characteristics and uses of each equipment, and led the teachers and students to visit the fire fighting vehicles.
In order to allow teachers and students to experience the fire extinguishing process more closely, firefighters carried out fire scene simulation experiments. Under the demonstration of the commanders and fighters, the dry powder fire extinguisher was used to carry out on-site fire fighting drills, and the use steps of dry powder fire extinguishers and the types of fire used in various fire extinguishers were explained in detail.
During the visit, the teachers and students interacted on the spot, and through simple and intuitive hands-on operation and experience, everyone learned the most basic fire safety knowledge in a relaxed and pleasant environment, and mastered the ability of self-defense and self-rescue.
Through a series of activities to open the team station, the awareness of teachers, students and parents on fire safety knowledge has been deepened, the ability to prevent and respond to fires has been effectively improved, the superb firefighting skills of the firefighting team have been demonstrated, a good image of the firefighting team has been established, and the fire safety awareness of the whole people has been further improved.
