In January 1950, after living in Hong Kong for more than a year, Wang Longyun of Yunnan Province was invited by the leaders of our party to come to Beijing to participate in the construction of New China.
He had made great contributions to the War of Resistance against Japan, and was not in collusion with Chiang Kai-shek in the civil war. In addition, he has huge power and deep roots, so our party respects him quite and treats him with great courtesy.
However, half a year later, Long Yun's biological son Long Xianzeng was killed by the People's Liberation Army in Yunnan. The Yunnan Military Region and local media also specially published official statements, and public opinion was in an uproar for a time.
His son was killed, and of course Long Yun couldn't sit still. From his point of view, he was simply deceived by the Communist Party.
Not long ago, the leaders of the Communist Party were obviously still in friendly dialogue with him, speaking and acting politely. But in the blink of an eye, the PLA was able to ignore his relationship and kill his son.
If the Party Central Committee could not give him an explanation on this matter, then he would probably not give up.
The Yunnan Daily on June 23 pierced his heart. He went to Zhongnanhai with anger and questioned Chairman Mao.
Chairman Mao understood Long Yun's current mood very well, at this time, reasoning didn't make sense at all. As the saying goes, hearing is false, seeing is believing, and the truth sometimes needs to be seen with your own eyes.
So after Long Yun vented his anger, Chairman Mao did not explain, but suggested that he return to Yunnan to have a look.
At this time, Long Yun is a very unstable bomb, which may explode at any time and affect social order. Under normal circumstances, it is the safest way to control him in his sight.
But Chairman Mao still chose to go off the rails and let him return to the base camp.
When his feet set foot on the land of Yunnan again, his heart was full of emotion. He rose from here, and buried his deepest memories here. The so-called king of Yunnan, first there is Yunnan, and then there is a king.
In November 1984, he was born in a landlord family in the Yanshan area of En'an, and later went to the Yunnan Army Lecture Hall to receive training, learn skills, and follow Tang Jiyao, the king of Yunnan at that time, to the north and south.
Although he worked under Tang Jiyao, he was quite dissatisfied with Tang Jiyao's style of doing things. Moreover, a soldier who did not want to be a general was not a good soldier, and he also had ambitions, so he staged a coup d'état and replaced Tang Jiyao.
Among the several warlords, the Dian army was a force to be reckoned with, and Chiang Kai-shek was also fearful. The relationship between the two sides is mutual cooperation, although there is nominally subordination, but in fact, Longyun has a unique voice in Yunnan.
After the outbreak of the full-scale war of resistance against Japan, he felt more and more that he and Chiang Kai-shek were not all the way. The army and people of the north are resisting the invaders to the death, and the great southwest cannot be left behind.
The greatest contribution he made, in addition to gathering the Yunnan army to resist Japan, was to build the Yunnan-Burma Highway, the lifeline of the anti-Japanese resistance.
In August 1937, the Yunnan-Burma road, railway, and airport were all put into construction, so that Allied supplies could be transported to China through lifelines, and the Chinese troops stationed in India could cooperate in time to deal a fatal blow to the Japanese.
Long Yun was indeed an old warlord, and he did associate with Chiang Kai-shek and his ilk. But his contribution to the war of national independence cannot be erased by anyone.
It's a pity that after the victory of the Anti-Japanese War, Lao Jiang came to a modern version of "releasing military power with a glass of wine", relieved Long Yun of the real power of the military and government, assigned him a fictitious position in vain, and put him under house arrest.

After arriving in Yunnan, what secrets can he discover?
In 1950, Long Yun rushed to Zhongnanhai and asked why his son was killed, and Chairman Mao asked him to calm down and go back to see for himself.
After arriving in Kunming, he was received by the middle and upper echelons of the army and handed over some things to him.
Long Yun, who was originally indignant, gradually dissipated the anger in his heart after seeing the true face of these things. He also understands that his unsuccessful son really has no chance of surviving.
His third son, Long Shenzeng, was very similar to him when he was young, very ambitious and very methodical, and served as the commander of the People's Revolutionary Army in Zhaotong, with great prestige.
It's a pity that Long Rope didn't have Long Yun's wisdom, no matter how capable he was, he could only go the wrong way.
In August 1949, Long Yun announced his separation from the Kuomintang reactionaries in Hong Kong, officially went to the masses of the people, drew a clear line with Chiang Kai-shek, and was warmly welcomed by our party and the masses.
At the same time, however, Long Cheng had many private contacts with Chiang Kai-shek and the reactionary high-level, accepted the appointment of Chiang Kai-shek, and claimed to be the commander-in-chief of the anti-communist National Salvation Army, insisting on being the enemy of the masses.
Five months ago, he had been assigned by Long Yun to return to his hometown with the mission of promoting the Yunnan uprising. But what he actually did was contrary to his father's ideas, the needs of the country, and the tide of history.
The "Weining Black Stone Incident," which shocked the whole country, was jointly planned by him and the top level of the reactionaries.
In April 1950, the 37th Division stationed in Kunming sent a platoon to transport daily necessities to Zhaotong to solve the various living difficulties encountered by the local people.
The fighters, on the one hand, had to take on the task of guarding, and on the other hand, they had to travel long distances, and they were already exhausted. What's worse is that when they passed through the Weining Black Stone area, they were ambushed by bandits sent by Long Rope.
On the surface, these bandits are just a rabble wandering around, but in fact they are mixed in with many reactionary spies, and in short, they are not easy to deal with. Moreover, the ambush numbered nearly 1,000 people.
On the other hand, in our army, the soldiers did not think of such a huge difficulty, it was just a task of transporting supplies, and the 37th Division only sent more than 40 people.
40 people against 1,000 people, this is no longer a matter of one as ten. The disparity in numbers between the two sides was huge, and even if the soldiers resisted stubbornly, they could not stop the enemy's attack like a wheel battle.
The battle lasted about 4 hours, and of the more than 40 fighters of our army, only 4 survived, and the rest were all killed.
Some of these soldiers have experienced the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and some of them have experienced the War of Liberation, and they have clearly seen the founding of New China and a hopeful future, but now they have all died in a deliberate ambush plot.
How can the corpses strewn around, all the supplies that were stolen, and the cars that were destroyed, not be heartbroken.
Long Xianzeng lost more than 100 people on his side, and if it wasn't for the fact that they took advantage of the number of people, they would not be the opponent of the PLA at all.
In addition to the "Weining Black Stone Incident," in the course of several months, Long Cheng repeatedly robbed civilian property, sneak attacked PLA troops, and planned to assassinate our army cadres and generals.
They refused to accept the control of the People's Liberation Army, provoked armed insurrections on many occasions, cooperated with Chiang Kai-shek, who had fled to Taiwan, and wantonly undermined the political forces of New China.
If the dragon rope had not been removed, the reactionary forces in Yunnan would have "been burned by wildfires, and the spring breeze would blow and regenerate."
It's just that Long Rope was not an ordinary person. His father was Long Yun, who had broken away from the Kuomintang and was also a patriotic democrat to whom the leaders of the mainland attached great importance.
Even for Long Yun's sake, dealing with the dragon rope must not be simple and rude.
General Chen Geng, the leader of the provincial party committee and the military region, paid close attention to this, and he personally went to see Long Chengzeng, understood his reasoning, moved him with affection, and tried to persuade Long Xiangzeng to put down the butcher's knife and abandon the darkness and turn to the light.
In terms of reasoning, Long Rope should have conformed to the development trend of the times, clearly saw the general trend of China, and consciously stood with the masses of the people and democratic forces. However, the reception and conversation of Chen Geng and other leading cadres fell in the eyes of Long Chengzeng, but it had another meaning.

In 1950, Chairman Mao was questioned by Long Yun why he killed the other party's son, and asked Long Yun to return to Yunnan to have a look.

His unit was reorganized by the Southwest Military Region into the Zhaotong Garrison Corps of the Chinese People's Liberation Army, and he could also serve as the chief commander and deputy commander of the garrison area. If he can make meritorious contributions and make up for his mistakes, then his future will definitely be brighter.
However, he did not repent, and under the pretext of the post of deputy commander of the garrison area, under the guise of the People's Liberation Army, he did things that abused power for personal gain, and secretly gathered reactionary armed forces.
In his opinion, there must be a battle between himself and the Yunnan Military Region.
The division commander and political commissar of the 43rd Division were not unaware of his attempt, but they still had a glimmer of expectation for him, hoping that he would obey the unified command of the headquarters, restrain the army, and go all out to suppress the counterrevolutionary insurrection.
While dealing with the conversations of the PLA generals, he deployed reactionary forces, occupied the commanding heights in the city, and arranged for plainclothes agents to infiltrate.
Until the last moment before Long Cheng had given the order to open fire, our army did not give up persuading him to rein in the precipice.
When the three representatives of the army were brutally killed by him, and the sound of gunfire and artillery rang out together, the situation came to the point of non-stop.
Since our army has been unable to turn the dragon rope into a righteous state despite all their efforts, it is time to use violent means.
The People's Liberation Army was prepared, so it quickly counterattacked. Whether it is facing Long Shenzeng himself or other reactionary elements, our army has only one conviction, to cut down the grass and eradicate the roots.
If we really want to fight in a fair and open manner, a group of reactionary troops with a mixed mix of fish and dragons will not be able to compete with the PLA at all. After two hours of fighting, Long Rope and his team were basically annihilated by our army.
As for Long Shenzeng, the People's Liberation Army did not show mercy, but killed him on the spot.
No matter what Long Yun's reaction would be in the future, at this moment, only by killing him could the disaster be fundamentally solved.
More than 200 people were killed, more than 300 people were taken prisoner, and a number of materials were captured.
General Chen Geng's evaluation was: "You fought very well and got rid of the scourge for our nation. ”
Deng Gong, political commissar of the Southwest Military Region, also said that after the elimination of Long Shenzeng, the work of suppressing bandits in the southwest region will be easier to do, and the construction of the border region will be carried out smoothly.
The people of Yunnan, and even the masses of the people throughout the country, all applauded after learning the news.
Putting aside the relationship between Long Yun and Yun, the existence of the dragon rope is an out-and-out scourge. Countless ordinary people are deeply exploited and cannot raise their heads, only hating themselves for not being able to get rid of the cancer as soon as possible.
Now that the People's Liberation Army (PLA) has taken action to cut off the cancer and stabilize the overall situation, it is, of course, the will of the people.
After Long Yun arrived in Kunming, what he saw was Chiang Kai-shek's letter of appointment to Long Cheng Zeng, as well as a series of evidence that Long Cheng had launched a rebellion.

After that, Long Yun served as vice chairman of the Southwest Military and Political Commission and the Administrative Committee, and also served as vice chairman of the Central Committee and a member of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress.
Long Rope Zeng's wrong behavior did not implicate him, and the country's leaders did not live up to his trust, giving him complete trust and autonomy.
In June 1962, Long Yun suffered a sudden myocardial infarction and died in the capital Beijing. His legendary and turbulent life has come to an end.
