With the sound of a motor, under the remote control of the flight defense technicians of the Hengzhou Plant Protection Station, the plant protection drone loaded with pesticides swept over the rice fields at a low altitude, and the huge air flow under the rotor pushed the pesticide mist to spray evenly on the grass leaves. "I planted more than 200 acres of paddy fields this year, and now Hengzhou Plant Protection Station uses drones to 'fly defense' operations, which used to take two days for a person to complete the work, but now it only takes a few minutes to spray to complete, which helps us save capital costs and labor costs, and achieve the role of insecticide, increase income and production." Zhang Chunfang said happily.

In order to do a good job in the current prevention and control of rice diseases and insect pests, ensure the safety of food production, in view of the current occurrence of pests and diseases, the plant protection station of Hengzhou City organized the implementation of the first batch of plant protection drones to prevent and control rice diseases and pests in all towns and towns in the city, covering an area of about 30,000 acres.
It is understood that a plant protection drone only takes a few minutes to complete the "flight defense" operation of an acre of paddy field, and a drone can operate an area of more than 200 acres in one day, which is more than 20 times the efficiency of manual spraying, and can reduce the use of pesticides by more than 30%.
"At present, the city has used plant protection drones to carry out 15,000 acres of rice 'flight defense' operations." Chen Qiunuan, director of the Hengzhou City Plant Protection Station, said that the "flying prevention" operation will be completed as much as possible during the critical period of pest control, and the unified prevention and control will be carried out through the centralized "flying prevention" operation, so as to improve the efficiency of pesticide application, increase the control effect, and do a good job in the field management of summer grain crops and the green prevention and control of diseases and pests, so as to lay a good foundation for this year's bumper grain harvest.
