The reporter walked into the peony planting base of Hongzhuang Village and saw that the eyes were full of purple and red and rich floral fragrance, and the huge flowers were red or pink or white, and the tall flower branches, flowers and leaves were layered on top of each other. In this sea of scorching flowers, the villagers are busy weeding, watering, pruning flower branches, spraying pesticides, and the peony trees are particularly delicate under the careful repair and "dressing" of the villagers.

We started to get in touch with peonies 8 years ago, from selling to slowly cultivating, although the loess is not very good in other plantings, but it is very good in raising peonies.
The purple-spotted peony is mainly cultivated in Hongzhuang Village, which is widely used in courtyard and village beautification because of its strong adaptability to cold, drought, salinity, and natural wintering without any protection. With the increasing demand for peony flowers in recent years, it has also attracted many local young people to return to their hometowns to start peony planting, and Mu Hasan is one of them. After seeing the prospect of peony planting, he and a few friends set up a cooperative, and after three years of cultivation, his peony sales have increased year by year, and are sold all over the country.

When the peony is in bloom, there are many people who come to see it, and there are many people who come to choose the flowers. In recent years, Hongzhuang Village has also combined market demand and vigorously developed the peony breeding industry with the development model of "cooperatives + farmers". Up to now, nearly 300 people in the village have been employed, and peony has also become a characteristic industrial business card of Hongzhuang Village and an accelerator to boost the revitalization of rural industries.

Now we have 3 peony cooperatives in Hongzhuang Village, with more than 700 peonies, and the annual sales in 2023 will be more than 15 million yuan. In the next step, we plan to mobilize farmers in our village to set up more peony professional cooperatives, expand the planting scale, broaden the sales channels, and make the peony industry in our village bigger and stronger.
