Arrange the layout reasonably
There are two common layouts for small bathrooms: square and rectangular:
Although the bathroom is small, it can be divided into three functional areas: shower, toilet, and sink through careful layout. It is advisable to choose the right location to ensure easy access and enhance the sense of space.
The recommended basic layout plan is: starting from the door of the bathroom, the handwashing station is placed near the door to facilitate access and use; The toilet is next to the sink for continuous use; The shower area is located on the innermost side to create a natural separation of spaces. The result is both practical and visually aesthetic, creating a comfortable and convenient bathroom space.
For a square restroom, a common layout is shown on the left, but it can also be adapted to the right side with clever design tweaks to create a more visually tidy and orderly effect.
Rectangular bathrooms can be laid out like the one below, following a step-by-step approach.
If you have limited space in your bathroom and can't accommodate a sink, consider moving the sink out of the bathroom to free up space inside and reduce crampedness.
Dry and wet separation, 1 square meter is sufficient
Once we had designed the layout and made each functional area independent, we started using a variety of methods to achieve separation.
(1) Glass bath room
Glass shower enclosures are popular for their superior lighting and cost-effectiveness, and are divided into slotted, L-shaped, and corner shapes according to their shape. Especially for small bathrooms, the corner design can save space even more.
The biggest advantage of the shower room is that the temperature is better gathered, and the bath is warmer in winter~ When using a glass partition as a shower room, please note:
● Shower room width:
1) At the very least, make sure that the body can rotate freely when using. Generally, 900mm*900mm is appropriate.
2) If space allows, you can make an extra width of 100mm.
3) It is not recommended to make a shower room less than 800mm*800mm, not only will the body hit the glass door, but also it is not easy to breathe.
● Shower room height:
Most of them are 1800mm~2000mm, and they can also be adjusted according to the height of the family and the actual space situation.
(2) Semi-separation
Incomplete partitions are perfect for small bathrooms, as long as they can block the splash of water in the bathroom.
If you are concerned about the flow of water on the ground, you can use it with a waterproof strip or simply install a long floor drain that drains faster into the water.
(3) Half wall with glass partition
The ingenious combination of low wall and glass partition not only has excellent waterproof performance and clear division between dry and wet areas, but also shows a unique style, adds space characteristics, and shows extraordinary taste!
(4) Shower curtain partition

Use the right color and material to make it look bigger visually
(1) Color
For small bathrooms, it is recommended to choose light-colored wall tiles to effectively expand the sense of visual space. Pair it with dark floor tiles to balance the overall colour and avoid the discomfort of being top-heavy. In particular, blue tiles bring a cool touch, and when paired with white tiles, they create a bright and clean environment.
(2) Light
Small bathrooms often lack large windows due to space constraints, resulting in a lack of light in the room, which can feel oppressive. Waterproof tips
1. How high should the bathroom be waterproof? What are the precautions?
In order to ensure that the water does not leak during the shower, the height of the shower and shower head in the bathroom is usually about 1.8 meters, so the wall waterproofing layer of the shower area should be extended to a height of at least 1.8 meters. For non-shower areas, the waterproofing layer should be at least 300 mm up for safety. The waterproofing layer in the basin area is particularly important and should be returned at least 1200 mm to prevent moisture penetration. Nowadays, many families choose to make the wall waterproof to 1.8 meters when decorating the bathroom, which is both practical and efficient, ensuring comprehensive waterproof protection.
2. The closed water experiment must be done
When testing the waterproofing effect of the restroom, it is recommended to use the closed water test, also known as the water storage test. The specific operation is: store water on the bathroom floor, and keep the water depth at 30-40mm (at least not less than 20mm). After that, observe for 48 hours, if there is no leakage during the period, it is considered that the waterproof effect is qualified.
3. How to accept waterproofing
