In CAD, we often need to count the number of various elements in a drawing, such as lines, circles, text, etc. Manual statistics are not only time-consuming, labor-intensive, but also error-prone. So, how do you count quantities quickly and accurately in CAD? Below, let's learn a few simple and practical steps to easily get CAD quantity statistics!
Software 1. Fengyun CAD editor
1. Start the "Fengyun CAD Editor" and draw or copy a few graphics. Go to the [Tools] column and select the [Create Block] function to create a block from the selected objects.
2. In the pop-up [Create Block] window, edit the name of the block, confirm the selected object, and click [OK] to save the settings.
3. Next, open the [Object Selection Filter] and locate and select the block you just created. Use the box selection tool to select the area you want to count, and when you complete the box selection, the system will automatically display the number of blocks in that area.
Software 2: ZWCAD
1. Click Tools in the menu bar and select Extract in the tab.
2. Select "Create New Extract" and click Next. Select Current Sheet as the data source, click the icon on the right side of the data source, and select the range of the sheet for which you want to count blocks based on the CLI prompt.
3. After the selection is successful, right-click to return to the data extraction window. Select "Block" under Object Selection and click Next.
4. Select the properties to be extracted, here, we only count the number of blocks, so only check the "Object" and "Quantity" properties. You can double-click Display Name to modify the name of the attribute displayed on the sheet or file.
5. Click Next to see a preview of the table. Here we can see the total number of blocks.
6. If you want to insert the table into the drawing, click Next, select "Insert Data Extraction Processing into Drawing", select the insertion point according to the command line prompts, and finally click Done, and the data will be inserted into the drawing in the form of a table.
Software 3. Auto CAD
1. Open the CAD file and prepare to create the block. Enter the command [B] on the command line and follow the prompts to quickly create a block and specify the desired object.
2. Then, enter "fi" in the command bar to start the [Object Selection Filter]. Select the block you created earlier in the filter. Use the Marquee Selection tool to select the entire sheet, and when you right-click, the command bar will display the number of selected blocks.
