First, high temperature weather occurs intensively

On the evening of May 13, supercomputer analysis data showed that although a wave of westerly wind wave fluctuations is moving southward, pushing a cold air into the northern part of the continent, the strong continental warm ridge still controls many places in the north of the continent, pushing the dry and hot air mass formed in the northwest inland region to move eastward.
According to the supercomputer forecast, although the new cold air is about to move south, warm ridges will continue to form in the westerly wind belt in the coming period, and the strong continental high will continue to control many places in the north of the continent, and the temperature will continue to rise, and the degree of warmth will be further upgraded.
What are warm ridges and continental highs? To put it simply, warm ridge is a kind of high-altitude warm airflow, which will make the airflow sink and warm, the sky is clear and radiant, the air is dry, and the wind speed is relatively small, and the heat dissipation is slow, just like a "big pot lid" that does not dissipate heat, so the weather is mainly sunny and hot. The continental high is a low-level system of high pressure that blocks moist air from the ocean, making it easier for inland areas to rise due to a lack of precipitation. When the warm ridge and the continental high work at the same time, a kind of "heat dome" effect is formed, resulting in continuous hot and dry weather in the northern region.
According to the forecast of the Central Meteorological Observatory, in the next 10 days, there will be 5~7 days of high temperature weather with a daily maximum temperature of 35~38 degrees in the Xinjiang Basin, and the local maximum temperature can reach 39~42 degrees. From the 17th to the 20th, there were 2~4 days of high temperature weather with a daily maximum temperature of 35~37 degrees in the central and western parts of Inner Mongolia, the central and southern parts of North China, Huanghuai and Guanzhong of Shaanxi. In this way, the northern part of the mainland is not only ushering in a wide range of hot weather, but also the 40-degree heat wave is about to expand.
3. Pay attention to wheat
The Central Meteorological Observatory also pointed out that from the 17th to the 19th, moderate to severe dry and hot wind weather will occur in the central and southern parts of North China, Huanghuai and Guanzhong winter wheat areas in Shaanxi, which is not conducive to winter wheat producing areas.
Hot and dry air is a powerful wind force caused by a hot and dry air mass, which causes crops to lose water quickly, leading to wilting, withering, and death, causing serious losses to agriculture. A hot dry air mass is a high-temperature, low-humidity, and stable air mass that usually forms in plateau or desert areas and then spreads to other areas as the wind direction changes.
