Bloomberg's Mark Gurman revealed in the latest issue of the Power On newsletter that people should not expect too much from the new iPad mini, as it won't be released until the end of the year at the earliest. In other words, there won't be this product at next month's WWDC24 either.
As for the specific upgrades of the new iPad mini, Mark Gurman expects that the main upgrade will be the processor, and other aspects may not change much. If the mini is really updated at the end of the year, it should be powered by the same A18 chip as the standard iPhone 16.
In other aspects, there are early revelations that it will solve the "jelly screen" problem on the previous generation mini 6. At the same time, the front-facing camera will also be moved to landscape bezels, a design that first appeared on the iPad 10, and the new iPad Pro and iPad Air have just been announced.
In addition, according to the new iPad Pro and iPad Air, it is also foreseeable that the cellular models of the new iPad mini will no longer support physical SIM cards, and it is expected that the mobile network will be implemented in the form of eSIM (the only operator currently supported is China Unicom).
There is also storage capacity, which is expected to start at 128GB like the new iPad Air. As for the stylus, I personally don't think the new iPad mini will support Apple Pencil Pro, because professional drawing is not just needed for small screens.
In addition, two new Apple devices have recently passed the national 3C quality certification, model A2117 and A2781. Among them, the A2117 is shown as a "wearable computer", which is manufactured by Likai Precision. Obviously, this product is the Apple Vision Pro.
The A2781 is shown as a power bank, which is manufactured by Goertek and is expected to be the supporting battery for Apple Vision Pro. It seems that the national version will be coming soon, and perhaps a specific release date will be announced at WWDC24 next month.
The only suspense for the Apple Vision Pro in China is the price, which starts at $3,499 in the U.S. version, which is currently about 25,321 yuan. But the price of the national version should be higher than this figure, after all, there is also a tax.
