On May 12, the "Carbon Neutrality Activist" parent-child activity jointly organized by the District Ecological Environment Bureau, the District Women's Federation, and the Jiaxing Road Street was held, and more than 20 groups of families signed up to participate.
During the activity, the participating families visited the first sub-station of Jiaxing Road Street, Hongkou District Citizen Station, the Science Museum of Domestic Waste Classification, participated in the green and low-carbon walk in the Peace Park, and participated in popular science lectures, etc., to understand and practice the life concept of green and low-carbon and "zero-waste city".
"Do you know what May 15 is this year?" Before the start of the visit, the staff of the District Ecology and Environment Bureau asked the children questions. "National Low Carbon Day." The child who knows the answer raises his hand to answer. Since 2013, the third day of the National Energy Conservation Awareness Week has been designated as the "National Low Carbon Day", aiming to adhere to the concept of "people-oriented" and strengthen publicity and education on climate change adaptation and disaster prevention and mitigation.
Walking into the citizen station, the children and parents who participated in the activity learned about General Secretary Xi Jinping's earnest entrustment for garbage classification through the video.
Subsequently, the staff introduced the Jiaxing Road Street through the exhibition board to adhere to the new concept of new fashion, focus on long-term normal management, continue to promote the transformation project of garbage classification boutique points, and the work results from "garbage classification is the new fashion" to "new fashion of low-carbon life".
In the Science Museum of Domestic Waste Classification, volunteers explained the basic knowledge of garbage classification, collection, transportation and disposal, and introduced Hongkou's advanced experience in garbage classification.
"Are crab shells dry or wet? Although the crab shell is produced during eating, it belongs to dry garbage, do you remember? Combined with examples from daily life, the volunteers let the children understand the correct way to put different garbage, help them further understand the importance of garbage classification, and enhance their awareness of garbage classification.
The Peace Park provides a space for citizens to get close to nature and enjoy a green life. In the Peace Park, participating families walked at the low-carbon living experience point, practicing the concept of low-carbon living by checking in and collecting garbage.
In the classroom of the Peace Park Nature Center, volunteers gave popular science lectures to children and parents, conveyed the concept of environmental protection, popularized low-carbon lifestyle, stimulated everyone's awareness of environmental protection and responsibility, and jointly contributed to a low-carbon life.
May 15 this year is the "National Low Carbon Day", with the theme of "Green and Low-Carbon, Beautiful China". In order to further deepen and implement Xi Jinping Thought on Ecological Civilization and the new fashion and new requirements of low-carbon life, Hongkou has organized a series of activities in various forms to make the concept of green and low-carbon deeply rooted in the hearts of the people.
