These springs then converge into clear streams that flow through every corner of the city and eventually join the Daying River, which flows all the way south.
In Xiyuan, there is another water conservancy project that has to be mentioned - Shilangba Reservoir. This reservoir is a major water conservancy project in the history of Tengchong, with a history of more than 570 years.
According to the record of "Tengyue Prefecture Chronicles", "when the Ming Shilang Hou Gongjin was stationed in Teng, he saw that the western suburbs were many acres in shape, which was the source of poverty, and at the foot of Jiying Mountain, there was a Longwang Pond, and the water spring gushed out." This water spring is the source of the Shilangba Reservoir later. The "Half Pavilion Living Water" in the Twelve Ancient Views of Tengchong refers to this Longwang Pond.
Today, the Shilangba Reservoir has developed into a small (one) type reservoir with a height of 21 meters and a total reservoir capacity of 3.04 million cubic meters. It mainly focuses on farmland irrigation, but also takes into account the task of flood control and protection downstream.
The reservoir provides irrigation water for 4,500 acres of farmland for nine villages, including Yunshan, Walnut Garden, Dakuanyi and Machang, and also provides drinking water services for some villagers. Its existence provides a strong guarantee for the agricultural production of Xiyuan, and also brings endless vitality and vitality to this land.
