Embryo transfer techniques
In order to effectively improve the breeding rate of sheep and accelerate the pace of purebred sheep multiplication, yesterday (May 13) morning, the staff of the District Animal Husbandry and Aquatic Industry Development Service Center and the Municipal Agricultural Development Service Center went to the sheep farm of Fanghua Tongyuan Animal Husbandry Technology Co., Ltd. in Bangjun Town to guide the embryo transfer technology.
In the farm of Fanghua Tongyuan Animal Husbandry Technology Co., Ltd. in Bangjun Town, technicians are under a microscope in the laboratory, observing purebred Suffolk embryos in the culture medium. At the same time, these embryos are implanted into the recipient sheep to ensure the success of the embryo transfer procedure.
In this sheep breed improvement project, the introduction of imported purebred Suffolk, Australian white sheep and Dubo sheep, through embryo transfer, improve the utilization rate of purebred sheep, speed up the reproduction.
With embryo transfer technology, the utilization rate of ewes is increased and the rate of reproduction will be three to five times faster than normal breeding. It is expected that the batch of embryo transfer lambs will be born in June this year, laying a solid foundation for the whole region to accelerate the expansion of the core group.
