The wheat harvest in three summers is about to kick off, and the wheat in Chenji Village, Guolou Street, Pingyu County is also about to enter the harvest period, and this year, Chen Xiaoli, a large grain grower, planted 3,000 acres of "Zhongmai 578". In order to scientifically, truthfully and effectively evaluate this year's output performance, Pingyu County organized agricultural experts to conduct a pre-production survey in strict accordance with the wheat yield measurement and acceptance method.
Different from the actual acceptance, the theoretical yield measurement is scientifically calculated according to the number of ears per mu, the number of grains per spike, and the weight of 1000 grains, and the theoretical yield per mu is finally calculated. The results of the on-site production test have been unanimously recognized by the experts.
Feng Hekui, an extension researcher at Pingyu County Agriculture and Rural Bureau, told reporters that after the pre-production survey of Pingyu County Agriculture and Rural Bureau, the yield of this 3,000-acre demonstration field was 720.7 kilograms.
The 3,000 acres of "Zhongmai 578" wheat field planted by Chen Xiaoli, a villager of Chenji Village, Pingyu County, has thick green and yellowish wheat roots, strong seedlings, large ears and full grains, and Chen Xiaoli can hardly hide his joy.
Chen Xiaoli said that he is a large grain grower, this year planted more than 3,000 acres of wheat, through the county agricultural bureau technical experts many times of guidance, the current more than 3,000 acres of wheat is very good, a bumper harvest is in sight.
In recent years, the planting area of "Zhongmai 578" in Pingyu County has been expanding, from nearly 10,000 mu in 2020 to more than 40,000 mu in 2021, more than 100,000 mu in 2022, and now there are more than 150,000 mu. The planting area of "Zhongmai 578" ranks among the top 10 wheat varieties in the country, and it has shown outstanding advantages such as high yield and early maturity, high-quality strong gluten, comprehensive disease resistance and stress resistance, and ear germination resistance in Zhumadian City in large-scale display demonstration and promotion practice for three consecutive years.
The experts who participated in the yield measurement also reminded the farmers that although a bumper wheat harvest is in sight, they should continue to strengthen field management during this period, promote grain filling and grain bulging, increase the 1000-grain weight, and further consolidate the foundation for ensuring and increasing wheat yield this year.
