On May 8, Tangguantun Middle School in Jinghai District held a commendation meeting for advanced deeds of righteousness and courage to commend Zhang Bo, a student from Class 06 of the 2023 class who bravely rescued children who fell into the water despite his own safety.
Back to May 4, at about 12:30 noon that day, when Zhang Bo rode by Zhaoguantun Village Park in Tangguantun Town, he saw three or four children passing the ball and playing by the river, and there was a danger of falling into the water if he was not careful.
"A few children are not very old, they look like they are only eight or nine years old, and I am afraid that they will be in danger, so I went over and told them a few words." Zhang Bo said that when he received a phone call, he walked away, but he didn't go far when he heard a cry for help from the shore.
"When I turned around and saw a child who had fallen into the river, my first reaction was that I had to save someone." Throwing down the phone, Zhang Bo jumped into the water, dragged the child to the shore, and with the help of several other children, dragged the child to the shore and comforted him. After making sure that the child was safe, Zhang Bo rode his bicycle back to his home in Zhiguantun Village.
"Thank you so much, you saved our child's life, if there was any emergency at that time, the consequences were really unimaginable." After listening to Zhang Bo's narration, the child's parents took Zhang Bo's hand and thanked him repeatedly, and even sent a pennant to the school.
"Zhang Bo encountered a child drowning on the way home, regardless of his own safety, he stepped forward and sacrificed himself to save him, not only saving a fresh life, but also retaining the happiness of a family." After learning about Zhang Bo's righteous and courageous deeds, the head teacher Han Yonglan was proud of her students.
In Han Yonglan's view, Zhang Bo usually not only works hard in his studies, but also is optimistic, unites his classmates, is helpful in life, actively participates in various activities organized by the class and the school, and has a strong sense of responsibility and collective honor.
The years are more quiet because of youth, and the world is more magnificent because of the youth stepping forward. At the commendation meeting, Tangguantun Middle School issued an initiative to all students to "learn from Zhang Bo, advocate virtue, and pass on righteousness" to further enhance the sense of social responsibility and mission of young people in the new era of the school, and create a harmonious and progressive campus cultural atmosphere.
