"Taishang Xuanling Beidou Benmei Yansheng Sutra", also known as "Beidou Sutra", was written in the Song Dynasty, is one of the five classics of Taoism, and is an important Taoist scripture. It is rumored that this text was given to Zhang Daoling, the founder of Taoism (34-156), by Taishang Laojun. The text talks about the influence of the Big Dipper on destiny and emphasizes the importance of worship and chanting for the improvement of fortune.
