In order to further enhance the safety awareness of teachers and students in earthquake prevention and escape, improve the ability of teachers and students to respond, self-protect and save themselves in the face of disasters and avoid dangers, and protect the lives of teachers and students to the greatest extent, on the morning of May 11, Chengguan No. 3 Primary School in Mengcheng County carried out the "Earthquake Prevention and Disaster Reduction Emergency Evacuation Drill" activity.
The school has set up an earthquake prevention and disaster reduction emergency evacuation drill team, and formulated the "Earthquake Prevention and Disaster Reduction Emergency Evacuation Drill Activity Plan", which has made careful arrangements for the purpose, preparation, process, evacuation route and personnel allocation of each class.
Before the drill officially began, the class teachers popularized the knowledge of earthquake avoidance to the students, and clarified the specific details of the drill, so that the students could understand how to deal with emergencies when an earthquake occurred, and ensure that they could stay calm and evacuate in an orderly manner during the drill.
At 8:30 a.m., the alarm sounded, and teachers acted quickly, instructing students to hold their heads in their hands, protect their necks, lower their body weight, and guide students to hide under their desks to avoid injuries from the earthquake.
When the second alarm sounded, the teacher decisively instructed the students to take protective measures with both hands and head protection, and evacuate from the classroom to the safety of the playground in an orderly and rapid manner according to the established evacuation route. The entire evacuation process was well organized, tense and orderly.
After all the teachers and students arrived at the safe area, the class leaders immediately verified the number of students in their classes and reported the specific situation to Liu Zhenyuan, director of the school safety office. After the earthquake prevention and disaster reduction evacuation drill, Director Liu summarized the drill, affirmed the performance of all teachers and students, and emphasized that this is not just a drill, and at every moment in daily life, we should remain vigilant and improve our awareness of self-prevention.
In addition, Director Liu also conducted a training on earthquake prevention and disaster reduction for teachers and students. He pointed out that May 12 this year is the 16th National Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Day, with the theme of "Everyone Stresses Safety, Everyone Knows How to Avoid Danger". He explained in detail to the students the dangers they may face when an earthquake occurs and how to deal with it, and taught them to stay calm and prepare for emergencies.
